Quite happy with Rodwell signing for another year - seen enough to know that he's ok. We have REDUCED income so not all signings will be what fans want, so there's bound to be a few moans and groans.

What he needs to do is setup a gear now and put real pressure on Bash.

With Jags signing as well that gives us some cover But unsure if we got long term injuries they could replace anyone adequately That is not a criticism CW has to cut his cloth to siuit these difficult times If it leaves him a big wedge for a forward then that is good

Nothing wrong with Rodwell at all. Blimey we have got a few snobs supporting Utd now.

He's a decent enough cover player and he will do us a very good job from a squad perspective. Obviously though he must be shit cos he was signed up as a free agent rather than costing £10m or so, and he was a leech at Sunderland (two sides to every argument as CW said on signing him).

If CW wants him for another year then that's good enough for me. A solid cover player who is an ex international.

Still, I guess i must be reight pissed off that weve signed him. Actually on 2nd thoughts, I think I will be pleased that he's signed on again, committed himself to the cause for another year (still a youngish lad) and I will back CW to know just a tiny bit more about the lad than the 'I'm disappointed crew' on here.

I don't know where to start on these.

Why would we be binning players off like Rodwell? We have to field a squad of 25. The only reason we signed him, and Morrison, was because we couldn't afford someone better.

By that logic, if they never have to play why not sign me and you? I'll happily take a 1/4 of what Rodwell's on. I'll even by the first round. Maybe they will have to play this season? Like they did at the end of last season when we got some injuries and fitness issues?

You do realise that if we get injuries he may have to play, don't you? Are you happy to rely on Rodwell as we did on Osbourn?

I'm not sure either player is adequate cover, so in terms of "depth" - is that what we're actually getting with these two?

Let's say Egan, or Basham pick up a serious injury - are you comfortable with these two coming in for 5+ games? I wouldn't be, personally.
I think Jags looked way off in the games he played last season & Rodwell has barely played any football.

No issue with this at all. But I do hope we will be signing at least one centre back that is of comparable quality to what we have starting or there’ll be a huge drop off in performances.

Yes. But chances are we're going to sign another central defender anyway before the window closes going on our interest in Worrell.

Not "millions" but players around the level of Jack Robinson would be preferable.

Solid players, at a better age, who can still improve and who have recent experience of playing back-to-back 90 minute football matches.

To be clear, I would be more comfortable with someone like Cranie, over Rodwell & someone like Stearman, over Jagielka.
