Ramsdale - its time we had our own keeper and in the long run, he will be an asset to the club. On the other hand if a Henderson loan allowed us to strengthen other key areas of the first 11 then perhaps Wilder will go with that option, if indeed it is an option?

My thoughts exactly, although Ramsdale could end up the better keeper he looks a lot stronger and more imposing than Henderson but maybe not quite as agile, time will tell I suppose.

Right now, I'd lean towards bringing Henderson back for one more season as I don't see how we're going to make up for the extra goals we'll concede with an inferior goalkeeper.

Next season, when our financial position has (provided we're still in the PL) strengthened & we can afford to bring some big players in at the top of the field, then I'd look for a permanent goalkeeper.

It's all hypothetical though. Without knowing all of the numbers involved in each it's hard to give an informed answer. Mine is based, mainly on football and financial assumptions.

No one seems to have picked up on this but it was suggested locally that Man Utd wouldn’t include a clause to buy, which we wanted.
I thought that an interesting point and worthy of note because it also highlighted that we aren’t keen to continue to pay and develop this lad for zero personal gain.
That’s by the bye now, as Ramsdale’s done but I saw it as a major positive step forward. Hopefully followed up with any other loan deals we make there is an option for us if we make them a success rather than just developing them for the big boys and us paying for the privilege.

Henderson will never be ours so move on.
More importantly this would free up another loan slot enabling Liverpool and/or Man City to loan us a couple of young superstar goal scorers at the top of the pitch. Pep and Mr Klopp are huge admirers of CW, love the way we play football, and they would benefit from helping us ruffle a few feathers at the top of the table while those two fight for the title.

This makes no sense. Why would they offer a new contract to a player when they’ve agreed a price for them to leave if the loan is successful?
