Yes simple as I'll not fucking knee jerk after one bad half out of three games and get titty on. Football can be a freaky game and shit happens its how we react as a team now thats important. Lets see if those players grow a pair and react on saturday.

One bad half, what about the 2 against Preston...?

Oh no on the basis of this single bastard result I'm never going to clap again. Do you not think that people hurt if a poor result comes our way. What the fuck are you trying to prove?

I'm not in any imaginary camp, but first 15/20 mins apart, it was a completely different performance from Saturday.

Far more direct, less of the high intensity stuff. We were defending deeper and got basics wrong. Midfield and defence on Saturday completely dominated, today they struggled.

Poor day at the office, but something for Speed and his team to learn from.

I can see Morgan in for Nos on Saturday.

It was progression compared to the shite we had seen. It wasn't great but it was a whole lot better than the utter dross of the season before. Fuck me I'd take that game anyday over having to watch the majority of games from last season. Its one game, football can be freaky and frustrating it is now down to how we react that will determine the true nature of the players. I'll make my judgements then.

No camp here! And no point scoring against others views either.

I thought the second half was as poor as I've seen for a long while, even under Blackwell.

Speed will understand the task after tonight if he didn't before. I hope we give him time to turn it around.

Only plus for me was Brits....never hid and played till the end!

I'll not rate anyone else!

Its a bad result, but I look at the stats and the commentary and think bad night, ok, very bad night but loads of chances. If we get beat again Saturday, then maybe then, a panic button might be pressed. But lets see as a team how we react. Hopefully, positively and with intent. Scunthorpe had nothing to lose tonight, new manager et al. I still think we need to give Speed more games, and having a knee jerk reaction to this is not going to help anyone. Lets see where we are in 3-4 weeks. Hopefully he will bring in some new faces in the loan market - a finisher would be great - any going around??

Any thoughts on why this was so Foxy? Different team? formation? nge?

Well, there was this kid at a place pretty close to you.......

we have no passion no talent and to be honest no hope...............and the culprit is McCabe.

An absolutely disgraceful result to one of the weakest teams in this division. No excuses, we are poor, weak and hopeless.

Hard game to describe really.

Would have been a different story had the early chances hit the back of the net rather than the posts.

From fairly early doors we seemed to be sitting deeper than at Derby, the strikers were still trying to close down, but we weren't in Scunnys faces as much as we were with Derby.

One of the reasons the defence may have been slightly deeper, is the pace of Forte, who actually ended up looking good rather than being bossed by the defence which he normally would.

Whilst early on we did try and pass and move like at Derby, we didn't seem to keep up the level of movement as a team for as long and most definately resorted to playing a more direct game far more.

As much as things seemed to click on Saturday (bar the goalscoring), it seemed to struggle today. Yes, at times we were unlucky, but things just didn't seem as smooth or as balanced.

As a positive, we again created more chances, but the story pretty much was that the defence and midfield struggled to boss the opposition like they did to Derby. Scunny hit the jackpot really, 4-0 definately flattered them, but then again if you take your chances, that's what happens.

Lots for them to go over on the DVD, personally I'd focus on the differences from Saturday rather than neccessarily the individual mistakes.

belive it or not I enjoyed watching it far maore than some of the games we won last season.
We need Morgan back immediately

Agree Morgan in for Nos, but who will take Monty's place? There were quite a few poor performances tonight but once again Monty was woeful beyond belief and hopefully Speed will have now realised we can no longer carry a player of such ineptness.

Can't go into detail as posting on phone but thought luck really deserted us tonight. Thought there first should've been chalked off for handball and, from where i was, i couldn't see much wrong with our equaliser. Thought the ref got a few big shouts wrong. We made plenty of chances tonight as we did at Derby and whilst the performance wasn't as good, in very different circumstances, i remain encouraged.

Monty had a bad 10-15 minutes in the first half but he was far from woeful.
He was only brought off so we could play 4-4-2, which was less affective than the 4-3-2-1 we seemed to be playing in the first half.

Same here. Should have been miles ahead at half-time, but somehow went in 0-1. Scunny then put a man on Britton and we struggled to play as well. Still had plenty more chances, but we gifted them two goals (their other two were class finishes).

Nyron has been threatening to give stupid goals away since he was born, and tonight was his night.

Morgan will come back in, lessons will hopefully be learned, and somebody will take a spanking from us eventually.

0-4 to Scunny but sanguine is a strange feeling. :)

Of course the system changed when he went off but he was taken off because he was head and shoulders the worst player on the pitch and didn't put a foot right all night.

Whilst he didn't have a good game, I don't think he was the worst by some stretch.

Summed it up quite well for me, when minutes after Monty struggled with a hospital ball and got slated, Wardy just gave the opposition the ball three times in a row but was encouraged.

One bad performance and you're like a horny puppy.
You ever thought about being a marriage guidance councelor cos you'd have a chubby 24/7.

Twat.

I'm a newbie on here, but I've been to the lane tonight and I think there are a lot of positives to be taken from the game. We're actually passing the ball and creating chances which is a vast improvement on last season!!

And a 100% improvement on the Hartlepool and QPR game.

It's early days so lets see what Sat brings!!!

That's because Wardy brings something to the team and the fans can see it, on the other hand Monty is a liability and gives the ball away more than any other footballer I have ever seen, the fans see this also hence the slating.

Ah, I guess that must just be it then .

I'd check the stats though if I were you, I think you'd be surprised on ball retention.

Well, are ya?

You have performed a great service to all Blades tonight, Torrix. No matter how disappointed we are at the result, you have reminded us that there are some things even crappier than losing 4-0 at home. Your posts being the most obvious example.

Teat.
