They were already in the Prem that year weren't they?

They mullered us by four a couple of years prior. That was when people were writing Jags off as too lightwieght. Ha!

Presume he meant Watford when Unsy was sent off for slapping that poser and the elegant stick insect had probably his worst game in a Blades shirt.

I think it would be safe to say that less than 1% of the users on here post from a mobile device though. You are in a minority.

Why would it be safe to say that? There's loads of gadgethounds on here. I think it's safe to say plenty more than 1% of all users (which would be only 13 people) post using their phone.

If you're only talking about active users (say those who have posted within the last 3 months) then 1% is less than ten users.

According to the front page this forum has over 1,900 users so my less than 1% estimate is spot on. It's probably even less than 0.5%.

How is it 'spot on'? You have no idea how many people post using their phone, and i would still say that more than 19 people post using a mobile of some description.

The current member list is 1300 strong (according to the member list anyway) Linz and foxy delete the records of people who haven't posted for a while. The number on the front page is probably the total members this forum has ever had. Probably....

Well as i stated earlier I thought we played some good stuff and it was encouraging to see us passing the ball and creating chances, agree we need someone who can score goals, its been a long time since we've had a 20 odd goal scorer. Ive been going to the lane for a lot of years and that was in no way the worst home display ever not by a very long way!!!

They have the makings of a really good team, there are plenty of games to go and there will be lots of highs and lows along the way. What we really need to do is get behind the team and cheer them on every game even (especially) when they are losing.

Fair enough. I wouldn't though. In my experience very few people even have a mobile device that would enable them to access a website on the go.

I'm on the train at the moment and there's at least 5 people within spitting distance of me that are fiddling with a smartphone capable of posting on this site. Market penetration of smartphones in London at least is very high indeed. Even walthamstowblade has got one, and he's a total Luddite :)

Just to put the mobile debate to bed with something a little more analytical...

In the last month, ~8% of all visits have been via a confirmed mobile device. There will be slightly more, which just get tracked as an "unknown OS".

I'm often posting on here from the match, but more likely to be updating twitter for those who aren't there.

You'll have to do better than that foxy:D

How many HTTP POST requests have been made from a mobile device?

thats a good idea. maybe some of you could swap personalitys with some one thats a bit more cheerful.

come on folks have a week off will you.

I noticed you sneak that in Fritter!

The tide is turning:)

Seriously, and without going over old ground yet again, surely even Monty's biggest admirers must concede that it's time to explore other options?

What say you, Foxy?

But you are going over old ground yet again.

As somebody who has argued Monty's merits with you in the past, I would give him a rest at the moment, yes. I think he is the player who was most crucial to our previous style of football but also the player who has found it hardest to adapt to the new style, not least because there isn't a natural place for him in the current midfield set up. What I want to see is a midfield of Britton, Ertl & Wiliamson. Until Willo is fit, I would think about playing Quinny as the attacking midfielder.

But it isn't old ground. There's an obvious change of circumstances as you say yourself. Sorry to trouble you.

All good things come to an end sometime Pinchy and whilst I'm not say Sir Nick is ready for the knackers yard just yet, evidence from the 'new style' so far would suggest we need another type of player in midfield to compliment Britton playing at the back of a diamond. Monty and Jonny Ertl don't give the right blend to their new roles so maybe we should look at new alternatives for the two 'up and downers' as NM & JE seem to be filling at the moment.
However, never write Monty off, he's come back before and will still have a role to play as the season unfolds. But maybe its time to see how we function without him for a while?

I've just signed up and taken delivery today. It's small, shiny, cleverer than me, and very expensive. :)

Make sure you hold it the right way!

Not sure about the new iphones myself. It does look lovely, and the screen is very lush, but i don't think it's very comfortable in the hand.

I post with my iPhone all the time, i also have it on at the match to see peoples reaction to goals etc. Can't see what the problem is are we not in 2010? Keep using the phone highbury it is the way forward.

Yeah, I was going to get the 3GS and save some pennies but the screen on the 4 clinched the deal. Besides, I've fluked a very good discount through a mate so I still feel fairly virtuous.

This is the first smart-phone I've ever bought - they've evolved to the point where they meet so many of my techie needs that it's worth the money. No need to buy a netbook or an i-pad. My laptop and phone now see me fully geeked-up wherever I am. :)

Grand Theft Auto, The awesomeness that is Osmos (you have to try that), diary, waether email, Ordnnace survey maps, Dive Log, music player, Video player. Megadrive Emulator, SNES emulator, Playstation emulator, WIFI hotspot, VPN client, Miniture Civilization, the list goes on and on.

Happy days. I imagine this is what having children feels like. ;)

Which reminds me... When you buy an i-phone, O2, in their wisdom, give you a bag with "got it" written on the side in big letters. May as well have written "rob me" or "ponce" (depending on your point of view). :)

But obviously no spell check. :)

Mine's on ebay cos I'm not convinced that I need any of that. Back to my old Sony Ericsson W910: calls...tick, messages...tick, internet...tick, music...tick and more importantly, battery life...tick. Got bored of the iphone dying on me.

The other half, however, loves hers. Each to their own I suppose!
