Just read this from Berkshire live I think it was, sounds a bit more promising here.

Royals are still holding firm on Swift but I reckon Sheffield United will come back with another bid for him.

Plenty of time still to go in the transfer window so it could drag on.

Fixtures should be released at the end of next week.

Very promising indeed, I’m looking forward to the fixtures.

Reported in the Star that the Reading owner is now refusing to sell and that Swift may need to put in a transfer request.

He's basically trying to hike up the price as much as he can, IMO.

The transfer request goes in and the signing on fee covers any %of transfer fee lost by player asking for a transfer.
Reading need as much money as they can get.

And why not...if you're Reading and tjeres 3 or more premiiership teams interested why wouldn't you make sure its a bidding war ?

Let's.be honest if he's good enough to play in the premiership he has to be worth more than 4m doesn't he ?

The point is that until he has played in the Premier League we won`t know whether he is good enough.

Doesn't look like a deal is imminent here. Probably sign tomorrow now - hope so!

Fair play James Shield. Credit where it’s due. The Star has been copping flak for not having any news, but over the past week or so it has been worth following. Note that he has us down as being interested in Ramsdale.

I reckon the striker could end up being a surprise. Very few rumours on that one.

True Sharrow we wont...but Reading can see there is a lot of premiership interest and think they can get more than 4m.

We paid 6m for Freeman and he never played for us and I think.it will take that kind of money for Reading to sell

Agree with that.

Just the Brewster one but I can see Liverpool not letting him out until they've had a look at him and that's not ideal if they decide to retain him and we've missed out on other targets. I know a few have not been keen on here but just wondering if Daniel Sturridge could be like when we signed Leon Clarke or David McGoldrick and those two turned out well of course. Hes still only 30 and if fit, that's the big question, he could be a great asset to someone at this level.

Amazing in recent seasons how many second and third tier clubs who are hardly tearing it up can stand firm against bids for their players, and at worse get top dollar.

Thank Prince we're a bit different these days.

Well done Stir only 3 weeks late with the news

I love it when people you know aren't from Wales sound like they're from Wales.

Like Rodri for Man City, in my head he's actually Rhodri and he's from Port Talbot.

Here's footage of his Uncle he captured during their last family BBQ... 😂

I reckon it’s gotta be that dennis in Belgium reckon it’s a lot harder for Solid rumours to come out when it’s abroad the prince and van winkel have got connections in Belgium aswell

Exact same happened with berge , news came out of nowhere and we signed him without much fuss

Looks like this deal could be off. Seems like the Reading owner is saying he won't be leaving.

Famous last words. Digging his heels in re: valuation. He will go one way or the other. If United really want him they’ll get him.

Classic dilemma
Player wants to leave but club wants him to stay, common sense usually prevails as the club concerned that he stays but heart not in it, form drops off and value goes down
Alternatively McCabe is the chairman and sells to anyone for lowest price to the “club”

Reading need money, they wont budge so other names are getting mentioned, Longstaff, Kamara at Rangers and Cash (if he plays RCM) etc, United stance will be sell him to us or dont we dont care.

The problem is Reading need to sell to balance the books as they are facing an FFP charge. The CEO Nigel Howe is willing to sell for the right offer. The owner Dai doesn't want to sell and thinks he can rebuild the team around him. Depends who wins the argument. We can't wait for ever, player can influence it by putting in a transfer request.
