This could be Maupay all over again, using us to drum up interest. Give him a couple of days to decide then fuck him off.
He needs a reality check if he thinks he will waltz in to any club at our level and be a guaranteed starter. There maybe a dozen players worldwide who could demand that and hes not one of them.

We dont know when that interview was given. Could have been a week ago - and he’s not demanding to be a starter. All he’s said is he wants to play football.

"I'm hoping that I can go to a club now where it's a new challenge, it's a higher standard and most of all I still want to play.

"I want to come and play and test myself and get better as a player."

Sounds like he’s up for the challenge of wrestling the shirt of enda or whomever. No point getting salty cause it’s not done yet - if it is gonna happen it’ll happen otherwise he’ll go elsewhere

Can't understand the negativity at some of his portrayed comments.

All he's said is that he wants to push himself and play regular first team football at the highest possible level. Who wouldnt want that?

At least he wants to play not just sit on his arse taking the coin. Good on him.

I'm sure it won't be a negative if we sign someone from a bigger clubs who wants to play first team football. This forum needs to chill. I suspect it will be generally quiet until the end of the month/start of September given European competition and holidays.

West Brom's seemingly most ITK journalist has said “Fingers crossed, who knows, maybe his move to Sheffield United will collapse, but it looks very, very likely at this moment in time that he’s chosen Sheffield United over Albion.”
Any link to this? Struggled to find much regarding WBA transfers

If you read the statement it seems fairly clear (to me anyway) that it's in response to our offer being accepted for him & he's trying to make it clear the deal isn't agreed yet & he's still open to other offers.

He refers to an offer being accepted for him & I'm not aware of anybody but ourselves formally having a bid accepted.

I was excited by the prospect of signing this lad but from his comments it makes you wonder how he'd react to playing second fiddle to Enda for a few weeks or months.

I THINK I like his attitude.
Obviously if he comes in and has the mindset that he needs to prove he deserves a start and is extremely confident in doing so, great.

On the other hand if he feels he's owed a starting place off the bat and comes across arrogant and entitled, then that's the complete opposite of what we need.

Off such a short statement though its impossible to know.

Who says he would be? A lot of people think Enda is a shoe in, that's not how it works for me.

Nobody is but there's a difference in being confident and saying you're only going somewhere where you'll be first choice.

Despite his potential he's done little so far to think he can walk into a PL first team.

Agree but I would rather him talk like a winner to saying I don't mind nicking the odd game when the first choice is injured.

Very true. He may feel it's the right thing to say but you'd prefer him to say he's willing to work hard to win the shirt and backs himself to do so.

He's made a public statement, since we had a bid accepted, to say he's still available to other clubs... in a nutshell he wants more offers before he decides.
Has he? Have those comments been time/date stamped as to when the interview was?
I’ve just seen comments attributed to him which could have been at anytime since he knew he was a person of interest for several clubs.
Also, I’m a Blade, and if I were him I’d be wanting to hear what Milan have to say. Fucking hell, it’s Milan, the same Milan who’s technical director happens to be one of the greatest left backs (and centre half) the worlds ever seen. Living in one of the greatest cities in the world, awesome weather, amazing location, and playing for one of the biggest most historic team in the world.

I'm not getting salty at all, the interview seems to have been given very recently from the timeline given on twitter.
You say he doesnt want to be a starter but in the same breath he wants to play football? Only one way you can play regular is by being a starter or do you think he seems the type who will be happy with the odd subs appearance and a run in the cups?
I'm not saying his attitude is necessarily a bad one, nowt wrong with being confident but he will definitely have to wait his turn at most clubs above the championship.
I definitely dont think we should be used by his agent to try and get a "better" move because no matter when he said it, the interview has been released now to catch a bigger fish.

Shagging models all the time is over rated mate.

I have the same opinion as I did before I read an ambiguous quote in a random interview

Has anyone read the article? says personal terms would be higher but hed still have to prove himself to get infront of Joe Bryan

At least this highlights the fact that having a bid accepted for a player doesn’t necessarily mean we’re signing them.

The player has to want to join the club and agree personal terms, then there’s agent fees etc etc. They’ll be a host of clubs in the mix with the low release clause.

When Sky reported that we’d had a bid accepted, most people on here saw it as a done deal.

Which is mental. They spent well over £100m last time they came up, they have a capacity of 25.7k and they lost £20m in their last accounts...although that's a significant improvement on the £45m they lost when getting promoted in 2017/18.

Football really, really needs to get its house in order.

Be interesting if there is any movement on this over the weekend. Presumably all the interested parties are now out of the woodwork
