I can't see him being with us next season it is all getting to be a bit expensive for a keeper who will never be ours. We may as well buy a keeper and save a fair bit on the wages. I know Hendo is a great shot stopper but still way off being the complete keeper, if we got someone with a better all round game I don't think we would suffer too much by losing Henderson.

It’s already been mentioned but Man Utd WON’T be helping a rival (Chelsea) by loaning them a highly rated goalkeeper.

They will prefer to loan him to a club that won’t be competing for a champions league place who can give him games and develop him.
They would prefer to let him come to us for another year but logic suggests they can push up the loan fee.
It all depends whether we are willing to pay the increased fee and what other options we have.

If the interest from Chelsea is true, why would Henderson want to come back to us on loan? What is going to change in 12 months? De Gea will still only be 30, so if they aren't going to drop him after the poor form he has shown this season, why would they in a year? There is also the Euros to think about, will playing for us help him become England number 1 over Pickford and Pope?

To me there is just too many reasons why he wouldn't come back, so make the enquires to try but if a decent alternative becomes available we need to get him signed. Fuck being strung along by Man U all summer again, our stock is high enough to attract a decent permanent alternative.

BREAKING NEWS
Dean Henderson’s future at Manchester United will become clearer in the next fortnight, as talks over a new long-term contract enter a crucial stage.
Discussions over a highly lucrative deal, which would make Henderson one of the best paid goalkeepers in Europe, have been ongoing for several weeks but for now, no agreement has been finalised.
Ed Woodward is due to discuss budgets with the club’s owners later this week – and the scale of United’s offer to Henderson is expected to be on the agenda.

MORE ON HENDERSON'S MAN UTD FUTURE
Manchester United see the young England keeper as their long-term goalkeeping option and are keen to secure him on a new five-year deal.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains a huge admirer of Henderson and the progress he has made this season – and has not ruled out the option of the 23-year old and present goalkeeper David De Gea going head-to-head for the number one jersey at Old Trafford next season.
Henderson has enjoyed another high class campaign on loan at Sheffield United, keeping 13 clean sheets as Chris Wilder’s men finished ninth in their first season back in the Premier League.
Wilder would love to welcome Henderson back for a third spell at Bramall Lane, but faces competition from a host of clubs trying to persuade Manchester United to loan their talented stopper.
Chelsea are one of a number of clubs who continue to monitor developments at Old Trafford, in case agreement on a new contract is not reached.
Henderson has two years, with an option for a third, left on his present deal.

Man U aren't selling, for any amount of money.
We have a slight chance of getting him on loan again just because of his determination/stubbornness to be Man U's number 1.

Othe than us, Chelsea would suit him under Lampard but why would you sell a future England's number 1 just after your current keepers worst season at the club.

I hope Deano demands first team football, if he does and De Gea is still there (forget the other 2) we might have him back again.

" Making him one of the highest paid goalkeepers in Europe" Time to move on he's not coming back.

This will drag on till the start of the season as will the rhian Brewster situation
For some reason the big clubs like to make the other lesser clubs sweat for players they usually stole off them for peanuts anyway

Even if Man U want to loan him out again whoever takes him is going to have to pay a huge chunk of his wages.

Its surely time to thank Hendo for his massive contribution and move on to invest money and time into our own keeper.

Ramsdale is 22, just played a full season in the premiership and was Bournemouths best player. He'd be a great signing and play 2 games per season more than Hendo.

Please take with a pinch of salt but heard yesterday from someone that's fairly close to what's going on at the club and enquired about Henderson. According to him, nothing has been decided yet, Man U have offered him the same/similar terms as Chelsea's reported contract offer and his gut feel is that he won't return next season, hence why interest in other GKs has been ramped-up. Hope he's wrong.

The media talk is Chelsea are prepared to offer £170k a week, so if Man U match that and we loaned him again paying 100% of his wages it’s nearly £9m!

Even if we worked out a deal for say 50%-75% (unlikely) it’s still a lot of money for a loan. I’d love for him to come back, but unfortunately I think it’s time we moved on.

Understand your point but IMHO Henderson is the most capable option out there and the lowest risk in terms of performance. He'd therefore be my first choice and as such, I'd be willing to push to boat out to secure him for another season. That doesn't mean I think Utd should, would or could pay £9m for his services, however, if Man Utd don't intend to recall him, they'd be sensible in terms of what Utd would have to pay as there are also benefits to them of him returning to Utd - playing close-by, keep out of the clutches of other rivals, pretty much guaranteed games etc.

There is no way we could or should try to pay anywhere near what Hendo is likely to get in the upcoming seasons, moving on now seems the only solution for both parties.

For him, he's not shy in saying how good he is and where he wants to be, so staying with a club who - let's be honest now - isn't going to be challenging for top 4 next season makes no sense. And with his stock pretty high right now he needs to cash in on his next contract which in turn will set him up for future contracts should he continue his progression. If it goes well, it is the difference between being in the England squad and being England's number one.

For us, we've had two great years from him, he's helped us get where we are, no question. But while there is no doubt on his contribution, making such a large investment on one player who isn't even ours isn't a good long term strategy. What we need is a long-term goalkeeper as well as quality competition in defensive positions given our current reliance on Egan, O'Connell and Basham. We need more elsewhere also but for now I'm just concentrating on the defensive side of things. If the budget is well down on last year, we've got to ensure that the group overall is stronger, even if that means our new goalkeeper isn't as good as Henderson.

We are just delaying the inevitable for another season if we go back in for Henderson. Hes been great this season. with him and the defense being a big part in why we have finished and competed for so long all season. Henderson will never be our player and if we dont sort something now we will still be in the same position at the end of next season. i think it is time to go and bring in our own first team keeper that will grow with this team. we have developed Henderson over a period of 2 years for Man u. they could get over £50m for a keeper that we have spent time and effort in to developing. hes was a big part in getting us up and keeping us up but now i think we go and find that first team keeper to grow for ourselves

At this stage I think I'm more in the camp of going out and getting ourselves our own number 1. I like Henderson but I don't feel he is our long term future.
Its hard not to agree with that.
Another season while we get fully established wouldn't be a bad thing I suppose but losing him is inevitable so we do need to move on.

Its going to cost a bomb to replace him, but at least it frees up that well needed loan.

Having Henderson on loan has been like having an expensive and exotic rental car, a car you'd just love to own but it's out of your price range. You love driving it, but you know that eventually you'll have to hand it back and get back in your Ford 🤔

Baffled by this suggestion that Ramsdale is decent! Where's it come from? because he used to play for us? Rather play Moore than him.

get him back for another year and establish ourselves in the premier. Then go big on a keeper permanent.

Its come from the 38 Premier league games he has played for Bournemouth this season.
The odd mistake, but in general, outstanding.
He will get better and better, and would be a brilliant signing.
