To avoid any confusion on my earlier posts here is my thinking . . . . .

Conspiracy Theory

McCabe promises to build SUFC Women a new stand at Olympic Legacy Park (OLP).
McCabe has plans drawn up, agrees a price.
Announces plans to public.
McCabe lose control of SUFC to Prince.
Prince moves SUFC Women out of OLP.
Prince pays McCabe off.
Prince finds out he's bought stand for £5M to be installed at OLP
Prince speaks to suppliers.
Suppliers agree to build 'stand' (i.e whats been announced) at Shirecliffe instead.

THE END
Its not a stand though its a building

Excellent move. Updating the top building is much needed and with smart planning will be nice and easy. If the majority of the extension is done with moveable materials it allows us to pick them up and take them with us when / if we move to the new site. Yes it won’t be cheap but allows us to have something now and save costs when we move.

I remember Bettis saying New academy and then in time the first team come and join them.

Allows us to update the training facility which will please CW I’m sure.

Help me out. Is it a sure thing that the training ground is going to move from Shirecliffe eventually? Because if that isn’t going to happen, I worry about using Modulek. A scroll through their projects doesn’t exactly inspire confidence that the new building will be “state of the art.” What is the master plan here?

Bit here re: the long term plan for a new category one Academy. It’s basically a means of quickly improving on the current facilities without investing as heavily as we will in the long term facilities.

The first team will also follow the youngsters to this new development and although investment is being made in the current training ground at Shirecliffe, it is only to bring the facilities up to speed in the meantime.

This is the most long-term of the manager's vision for this club but perhaps the most exciting.

Looks like the south stand plans will be scrapped looking at the link.

Apparently, academy to relocate to Norton Aerodrome, anyone else heard this.

It's been said yeah, but some say they've seen the Prince and a load of hangers on, architects and city planners at the site, and others say the site is enshrined by the council for housing, so no-one knows.

If you read back on the plans for academy this was always the first stage. It was to bring facilities for the first team to be upscaled. The 2nd stage is the building of the academy for non-first team activities (Norton?) and then the 3rd stage was to move the first team to the new academy.
Norton aerodrome apparently

Bit weird considering the rumblings of a new training ground on different land.

We're are only doing it up because when Sheffield Wednesday go bust next season and have to sell Hillsborough (not to themselves this time) they will need somewhere else to play at in the Conference League and this would be ideal for them, it's nearby, in Shirecliffe, and all the little grunters from S6 can easily get there to go and watch them and go oink, oink, oink all the way home. Meanwhile, we'll have moved on to a real state of the art facility at Norton Aerodrome.

It's called "good corporate citizenship". Acting with the thoughts of others, less fortunate than yourselves, in mind. 😆

Have they started on this then? Not got a lot of time to get it sorted.

Pigs have got an £800k version from the same company. And fucking hell how fucking basic is that 🤣. It’s genuinely worse than our 1950s social club that we’re using now.
Have you ever been in the social club? 😂

Everytime I look at my emails now, I get an advert for Modulek. I've no idea where I could put one so I'm not going to "be ready for success".

I feel we're missing trick not having the academy and 1st team at the same base.

Shame really.

Looks good but still don’t understand why we based our training ground in the pig dominated shit hole that is Shirecliffe
To gloat and allow all our players and staff to wear their smug faces to work everyday🤭

My lads just started a sports science course run by the community side of SUFC. They are based at Warminster Road. I’m sure a few people on here have played there in the past and I think Wilder probably trained there as a player. I think this would be perfect now for the first team. There is now AstroTurf pitches at the bottom end of the site and the main advantage is its in the Blades heartlands.

Warminster is owned by the UofS and they would never sell in my opinion, especially after reducing the footprint of their campus based sports facility on Goodwin, or at least trying to, it will be back to its original size shortly!
Also planning consent for the new buildings required would be harder to obtain up there.

Soon to be sold to Mrs Chansiri for £8m

You are probably right but if they are loaning it out to SUFC community Mon to Fri already why not the first team. They could even sell at extreme profit. Other than professional sports clubs I don’t think facilities like this are high on the agenda. They are closing Ponds Forge a fantastic facility all be it council owned. Money talks.
