Lampard his managerial team are poor he as a manager has had it given to him on a plate Not much experience tactically naive and motivational non existent
Chris and his managerial team have worked their way up. Chris learnt his trade but has a knowledge of the game that puts managers like Lampard to shame. Tactically clever Motivational exceptional, experience immense.
Chris Wilder is probably the best manager anywhere at the moment AND he’s our manager AND he’s a Blade
Just going on this. I thought that was the ongoing joke of a poor 6th being replaced with a an excellent 6th.They finished 5th the the season before they appointed saviour Frank....
Let's see how the season ends. wins FA Cup, progresses in CL and finishes 3rd. Job well done.Lampard has done far better this season than I expected him to and it’s changed my opinion of him as a manager.
Next season will be a real test though. He’s had something of a free hit this season but he’ll be expected to deliver silverware or he’ll be shown the door.
.....and that’s the problem with young managers who have played at elite clubs. They get parachuted into top jobs for the name and because they understand top level players. However, they haven’t really had chance to develop their style at a club where they are happy just to see players strong two passes together, or overcome serious adversity.
If he gets the boot next season his stock will still be high enough to bag a Prem job but he’ll have to adapt to “effective” percentage football as clubs below the top 7 or 8 are mainly just concerned with keeping the Premier League cash hose switched on.
This is how we end up churning out Steve Bruces and Mark Hughes by the bucket load. Every young manager wants to play ‘the right way’ but quickly has to adapt to survive.

Time will tell on Lampard but remember the amount he will spend...In an ideal world for just two seasons NO transfers allowed then we would see how good managers are and I don’t think Lampard would be near the topI think you're being a bit harsh there on Lampard. In his first season as a first team manager, at Derby County he got them into the play-offs. In his second season, this season, he's got Chelsea to what looks like it will be a Champion's League finish, currently in 4th. I totally agree he's had these opportunities handed to him on a plate. But that doesn't make him a bad manager. I think if he'd been a bad manager he wouldn't get the team performing for him, no matter how good the players are.
In his post-match interview after we beat them recently he was very honest and forthright - he made no excuses whatsoever. I think he comes across as a very decent chap with good values.
I agree with everything you've said about Wilder - but there's no need to criticise Lampard to make your comparison. There are far worse managers out there than him and it's not his fault that he's had these great opportunities fall into his lap. Good for him I say. And even better for Wilder.
Rowett quit because he was told there wasn’t any more money and had to reduce the wage bill..Apologies, you were right and I was wrong.
They sacked Gary Rowett for finishing in lowly 6th, but lauded St Frank for getting them up to the heady heights of, er, 6th.
Rowett also got one more point than Frank.

Lampard came in and the Play-offs were a bonus in a transition season where played a few kids.
At Chelsea he was in a transfer embargo and played a few young uns, this was a transition season and they weren’t expecting to challenge for the champs league.
Each to their own, but I think he’s done a decent job in his first couple of years in management
Typical fat Frank...classless like his tax dodging uncle arry
