As we are all aware we are most likely looking at a permanent GK addition to replace hendo in’t summer, well, Loris Karius certainly had a rough time in his last spell in England, but there is definitely a player in there and he has shone on loan at Besiktas this season.

Priced at £7.25m, imo at this price it’d be a shrewd signing, especially for a keeper who’s played at the top level... interested to hear opinions on this one, tin hat on!

I'd rather have carriers in goal.

Yep, cheap, placky bags blowing around in the wind. Much more effective.

I think id rather have Joe Hart. And I dont want him either.

At the end of the day, there was a reason he was at Liverpool in the first place. He went through a rough patch, he has demonstrated the mental strength to come back from that, it will have made him a better player. See below:

No thanks. Can't we just sign someone we've never heard of. Or how about we offer Ben Foster another season in the Premier League - something he won't be getting with his current club?

Not the worst shout in fairness - he certainly had 'it' before he dropped those clangers. If he's back mentally then it'd be a thumbs up from me, although he'll always be remembered for that night and that's no easy thing to carry around with you.

Looks a better option then £20m for Hendo

It's easy to forget that he was 23 at the time of the CL final, it looks like he has developed and got back to a head space where he can compete again, he is only 26 now so I reckon he could go even further with that under CWAK

The reports I read were that he was awful over at his new club and they wanted to send him back but Liverpool refused

Villa been linked with Pepe Reina (37), thought he'd be older. They have been linked with a million keepers though. Id love Pepe at the lane, always thought he was top class!

We should have been in for Randolph from Boro, a steal at 4 million. Hope he's not in goal for West Ham on Friday.

Yeah, was going to say that he possibly had concussion for the CL final that everyone remembers him for (sadly). Actually think he'd be a decent option at that price and would be great for him to start a new story and prove his critics wrong in the PL.

I'm not sure how he's gained value? I know it's not much but an extra £1.3m for him to what Liverpool paid? I would have thought they would be lucky to get there money back never mind a little profit.

Being linked with a team in the farmers league.

I know people only remember him for that CL final, he potentially had concussion and played on. Premier League and European football experience... I can't help thinking he'd be a fantastic number one for us.
With wilder in his ear he could be brilliant, he'd be a snap at a cheap price too

There was a time when Ben Foster was getting pelters for his performances.

Cant see us stumping up that kind of fee this season, though that may depend on the cost of trying to get Hendo again.

The BBC article mentions a £6m fee, surely we’ll spend more than that if we’re going to sign a new permanent keeper?

Yeah, seems a low fee in the scheme of things, but the top of the pitch has to take priority and see what we have left in the pot.
What was the point of signing Verrips? If he came in to be third choice then that’s pretty dull, but I hoped he may have come to be prepared for the first team.

Another thing to consider is that he’s 37 and on £40/50,000 a week.

I agree we definitely need to strengthen in attack, but if Henderson doesn’t return, I can’t see us going into next season without a new number 1.

Would be a great signing. If we can't sign Deano on another years loan the no.1 will be a step down regardless of who we can get in
