I remember reading somewhere that Willo would be out till around November, but that was before he got sick, not sure on Hendo.

Willo was doing a few keepy-uppys by the bench before the QPR game, seemed mobile enough but I'm guessing that the op he had (not to mention the problems since) means he just needs to rest it for a period of time. As Swiss says, you'd have to think he'd be out until the new year.

That would be positive news. It looks like Britton actually needs a bit more of a footballer alongside him if he's going to be any use to us.

I think it can be surprising what a difference a new manager can make to how good a player looks.

While Sunday was inept I think a couple of players written off by fans might prove to be the players the were elsewhere.
In balance Williamson hasn't been anything like as good as he was at Watford but I still think anyone who is coming to conclusions about the team and Speed after one performance is just taking any opportunity to kick the club while it is down.
Williamson could be a huge player for us and the sooner he is back the better, but its very early days for Speed you can't expect miracles in a week.

That would be positive news. It looks like Britton actually needs a bit more of a footballer alongside him if he's going to be any use to us.

I've mentioned elsewhere that to me, Britton has looked so far that he doesn't what his role is and I suppose a change of manager / coach so soon won't have helped. Interesting that Swansea played him in the Monty role (for want of a better phrase) yet KB brought him in as more of an attacking midfielder.

He seems to be a decent enough footballer, very rarely wastes it but I'm sure he'll get better given a few more games and I wonder whether the long term aim might be for him to play the defensive role and Willo to do the box to box stuff. Obvious big question mark with Willo though.

Looking forward to seeing Willo back as he and Britton could prove to be a quality pairing. Hendo, I hope he hurries back to fitness asap so we can get him flogged in Jan!

I don't know anyone who expected miracles in a week.
The tone of the comments on here contending that anyone's said that are right on a par with the usual 'we don't have a divine right to be in the Premiership'.
The extrapolation makes no sense and no-one's said it in the first place.
Questioning the appointment of the manager is entirely reasonable, particularly when we've kept two of the three members of the former management team.
That said, I imagine everyone hopes he succeeds.
The broader picture remains the players and the overall management of the club - with the sacking still making little sense in terms of timing.
We now have Speed, rightly, trying to acquire a striker with some pace. Didn't we all know this when Camara left?
As for Willo, I think he's looked pretty decent when played in the middle but hopeless when the bizarre decision was taken to play him on the wing.
If we're going to try and play some more football, he looks like he has some of the tools - if he's ever fit.

A few weeks ago everyone was sating that we should sell Henderson, but after watching Evans, Bogdanovic and Cresswell's performances this season then suddenyl we are all waiting for his return. Willo is a crock and can't be replied upon, but again after some poor performances from our lack lustre midfield we are looking for him.

I rate Henderson - he looks a far more potent striker than either Evans or Bogdanovich and someone provides presence.
I think Willo's done pretty well when he's been fit.
Not sure what else we can do but look forward to them being fit. Can't see any other options without any money - and the rumour of Anichebe is particularly worrying given his - and our - injury record.

19 in 58 if you include cup games too. Ok, I accept that it is not crap. However for a £2 million striker playing in the second tier I think a goal every 3 games is poor. You're right I was exagerating, but (IMO) Henderson has been a big disappointment for United.

i'm interested to see if now we're under the new regime.. players 'suddenly' start being injured less often than before.. i have it on good authority that the training was pretty merciless under blackwell

The thing with Henderson is not just his goals that he scores but also the fact he can bully defenders into making a mistake. He is almost essential if we are to play 4-5-1 away from home too. He doesn't have to score 20+ a season to be an effective striker.

I fear for Willo really.

Backs are pretty unforgiving when they "go". I hope to God he returns to full fitness because in the few games he played (in his proper position and not wasted out on the wing) he looked a good player. His return is the one thing that looks like it can save our none creative midfield without spending some dosh.
