So Speedo is saving McC the money still?

Bet McC has got a right hard on.

Nowt's changed.

How can that be saving money ? A pay-off would have involved paying up his contract but if he's staying, we are still paying him a wage yet a new wage is also required for a new No.2.

Who on here has first hand knowledge of his effectiveness as a number 2?

Remember it was Blackwell behind Warnock's success, and David Kelly behind Warnock's failures. Allegedly...

C&Ped for the clickless:

Sheffield United confirmed today that Sam Ellis - assistant manger under Kevin Blackwell - remains with the club.

Some media reports had suggested that Ellis had left following the departure of Kevin Blackwell after the 3-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

A spokesman said: "Going forward, Sam will continue to play a role with Sheffield United."

The club this afternoon stages a press conference when a new team manager will be unveiled and further details concerning backroom staff will be given.

If cashflow is tight, we might not have enough money to pay him off as well.
Doesn't sound great.

If you have to pay him off then employ someone else it would cost more than keeping what you've got?

The whole management team shud be fooked off ................along with the scouting team.....cause there either yes men or fooking useless.!

I'd be very disappointed if Speed hasn't got his own asst lined up. We desperately need some fresh ideas and if he is to inspire confidence that he is ready to be a successful manager he must recognise that Ellis isn't up to the job.

Ellis was a crap footballer himself so how he is qualified to coach is beyond me. A third mascot maybe?

Thats a big assumption seeing as we appear to have fired the higher earner and presumably have enough to pay him off.

There has been this second assumption, from almost his arrival with the club, that Ellis does nothing of any value. Thats something that we simply dont know. Speed has requested him to stay on as his No.2, so he must see him as a useful member of the team ...

Another kick in the teeth for Blackwell though, more-or-less says he was totally to blame.
