Blackie's never been great with players' names. Paul Pescilido is my favourite mangling, but he also had some difficulty with Jaglielka. It's irrational, but I could never quite trust a manager who can't pronounce, and almost certainly can't spell, a player's name.

Indeed. I would hope that Taylor becomes a better player from this and that he drives him on to improve his game. His performances have been below what is required at this level (IMO) but he is young and giving him strong competition will be a good thing for us and Taylor.

Stephen Jordan is a really sold left back and as good as anything at this level. Taylor will have to work very hard to win a place now. Good signing and he will give our left hand side much more security.
