Have we turned into what pundits were saying at the start?

We were safe just after Xmas ,did the pundits predict that ?

I've been saying the same thing for years, but I will never understand how pundits don't understand the importance of the basics.
A settled side, manager and system.
You build the foundations in the Championship (Stoke/Burnley/Swansea), not in the Premier League (Fulham/Villa).
It is not 100% the case obviously, Norwich this season are almost identical to last season, but have really struggled. But it gives you a far better chance of survival.

Their predictions only took into account the quality of each player individually, rather than when these individuals were put together as a team.

To many games , higher temperature , loss of main players , empty stadiums , fitness lost due to break , NO

That’s basically it...we are also having less rest time than our opponents in almost every game.
Wilders philosophy is to play the same starting 11 as much as possible to encourage familiarity.
In this new format the squad is more important than the starting 11.....this new format highlights our weaknesses.
Its unfair really because the rules/ format of the competition have been changed part way through.

🎵 We’re going to win the cup,
We’re going to win the cup.
Now you’re gonna believe us,
and now you’re gonna believe us.
We’re going to 🎶...............Bugger

Seriously? Really? But I've been singing "you've GOTTA believe us" all these years...

We should have experienced a large gulf in class but our fans have lifted players way above their level.
Shows how encouragement plays a massive part in players attitudes.
When we are allowed back in let's not forget this effect we can have

The pundits know fuck all, it's been proven to be fact!

3 tough away games
First we scored a winner that wasn't given
Second .sending off changed the game
Third. We lost at man Utd. Where we haven't won since Sweet were at number one with teenage rampage

3 games
0 goals for
6 goals against

3 half chances created in all 270minutes of football.

Is that what pundits were saying at the start of the season? Weird comments really.

No...but it shows the squad depth is virtually none existent. Out form pre covid was built on a settled first 11 without injuries. What we've found out is that as soon as we lose players to suspension/injury or loss of form the back up isn't good enough.

If there's one thing I m worried about its that the players weve signed have struggled to prove they're up to it. All our best performers were with us last year.

The big 2 signings McBurnie and Berg have been mediocre at best. Moose never stays on the pitch, Robinson looks shaky and it seems Wilder doesn't fancy Osbourn or Freeman.

This summers signings are going to be key

N first. O second

I'll take the evidence of a nearly full season over the 3 weirdest league games we've ever been involved in.

I've seen more than enough to know we have the basis of a team who can create chances. But we have limitations that become more obvious if players levels drop (Fleck, Stevens) or we pick the wrong forward pairing (Sharp/McBurnie. Didzy has to play every game, to not start him against Villa was criminal)
Are you critical of the venerable leader's team selection?

Yes. I think he got the first 2 games wrong. We played to nick a 1-0 both times.

We've fallen in love with the "impenetrable defence" thing and haven't evolved the attacking plan (7 goals in the last 12 league games). I think the Villa and Newcastle games were a bit of a wakeup call. And the last 2 show that if your defence has an off day and you only create one chance a game you can't win. We need to figure out how to create a bigger margin for error and that means being a threat to score 2+ every game
