Dean Smith

Correct!

There is more than enough resource for the PL to see that we scored the goal. They are the ones to blame, not Dean Smith.

Exactly that refs days are numbered, when decent players like Norwood and sharp politely tell him he got it wrong, he must be able to call VAR, nine times out of ten VAR team call the ref, like at spurs, so it needs scrapping, clearly biased system this is now match fixing on a digital scale.

I'll say it first..

Been made aware of the error by who?

In fairness why would his coaching staff at half time make him aware of it, it’s nothing to do with him or the team?

Michael Oliver told the staff at half time that it had crossed the line. He knew at the beginning of the second half they should have been 1-0 down.

He's a twat.

But why would DS have been made aware of it when conducting his half time team talk?

Its 100% down to the technology that hasn’t worked and VAR should have rectified it.

You kidding me? The keeper went back into the dressing room with jet lag he carried the ball that far behind the line.

You a Villa fan?

I certainly agree to a certain point!

Saying that we were poor, looked tired and no goal threat.
Apart from Newcastle second half worst performance I have seen.
Turgid is the word, for the non literate that means crap! We deserved very little, so a point was a good as me it gets.

Thought we were very good 2nd half against Newcastle....they were sat back defending the bus.
However when that 2nd goal went in it knocked the stuffing out of us and we were poor with Newcastle looking decent in the last 10 minutes.

Tonight was one of our poorest displays of the season..however thankfully we can always rely on our great defence....so even when we don’t play well we can pick up a point.

So the keeper would have stood up at half time and said ‘sorry gaffer before you talk tactics I’ll admit it was a goal, sorry’

We were robbed but the last person you can blame is Dean Smith.

Nothing to do with VAR

Everything to do with VAR, it was brought in to protect refs from thier mistakes, and wasn't used tonight. Sue the people who run the system..

We (that go to games) have seen the ref get the message in the earpiece, make the TV sign and stop the game, not tonight tho.. To say it's nowt to do with VAR, you haven't been watching have you..

Where's the sporting integrity then? Keeper knew it was in, so did every other player in the box. So i for some strange reason Smith didn't know why didn't his players say so?

#STINKS

It’s no coincidence, that would have been a hat-trick of similar goals scored by Norwood this season...Everton,Palace and now Villa,it is no fluke.

Don't be silly, Oliver can only work with the tools he's given. The bloke was put in a no win situation.

That's not exactly how Villa felt last season against Leeds, with the same management team ?

Very different circumstances. One is an instance of one team gaining an unfair advantage through extremely questionable play. Villa didn't do anything unquestionable, they just played.

Not a Villa fan that’s for certain.

The observant ones on here know where their bread is buttered mind, and he/she knows we know. Go easy on it.

Ahh, a difference of opinion and this comes out.

Tell you what I’ll just leave the board mate, even on a football forum I’m not allowed an opinion.

People have mentioned here that ‘Villa did nothing wrong, the tech failed’
Do you honestly think Nyland and Davis didn’t know that had crossed the line, considering it was behind the post in the side netting?

It's called guilty knowledge which is the same thing.

Ok, if Deano did it, would you expect him to then run up to the linesman and tell him it was a goal?

Or would you want Wilder to give the goal back due to a referring error?

Before VAR there were many controversial offside decisions which go for and against us. Do you expect the manager to look at them back and say give them a goal back?

Wilder would not have a problem with that goal being given. It wasn't a ref error it a supposed 100% fair play error run by technology. That made an error and admitted it so the correct result should be given.

VAR was allowed to over-rule it which is officiated by real referees in Stockley Park, they didn’t therefore it’s a refereeing error.
