I don't mind Simon Jordan, even if I disagree with him I respect the way he makes his point.

I'm on the fence, finishing this season in a group round place rather than having to trudge through qualifiers would be a dream come true, and don't think it would have too much of an impact. I'll never turn my nose up to watching dem blades take over Europe, but, I'd be concerned if we are heading into early rounds.

I can sort of see where he's coming from, it took Burnley until Christmas to get over their early exit from last season's Europa League. The aim should be Champion's League though: fewer ridiculous trips on a Thursday night; loads more money.

Yep. Considering our threadbare squad and how piss poor our back up xi appears to be when it gets rolled out, I'd worry about what playing more games would do to those in the starting xi.

But then again, fuck it. Better to burn out than to fade away. Would rather make the most of our time in the sun and roll the dice as opposed to the tedium of 17th place finishes!!

Due to the COVID-19 over the next 12 months, it might be the easiest, shortest Europa League route to the final ever, in regards to qualification/knockout stages, ’league games’ and home/away matches. We definitely need to get into it this season.

Instead of the long-drawn out qualification, it could be more group leagues then straight to knockout.

Yes, he does talk a good talk and of course he can have opinions - but Sheff Utd is now like no other club - CW and his backroom staff are doing it differently and it looks like we're ruffling a few feathers along the way now we've joined the big boys in the Premier League.

We are growing organically - albeit, very quickly and whilst we need to watch out for pitfalls that no doubt will come, there's no reason to suggest we can't do similar to Wolves have done. We'll have to do it differently to Wolves, but who's to question that CW & AK are NOT the new Clough and Taylor who took another provincial team on to great heights. Forests achievements can't be replicated now as the European Cup has since morphed into the closed shop that the CL now is with leagues - but what we can do as Leicester and now Wolves have shown, is that it can be done differently no matter what others may think and do.

We're OK on our own Jordan - appreciate the concern but we're going to do it our way.

Now get back in your box, look after Palace and get your new stand built....................oh dear - what new stand!

Champions League football will buy us a shit hot 2nd XI.

Think Henderson/Bayindir, Emmanuel Dennis, Odsonne Edouard, etc... If we can offer CL and PL football we will be a very attractive proposition compared to Arsenal and Spurs next season.

Well first of all we have to achieve European football, so excessive worrying about our future seems a distinct case of worrying about other club's whilst those concerns would be better applied to his own team. I quite like Jordan, but on this he's as wrong as wrong can be. Wilder is someone who needs very little help, he's surrounded by football savvy staff who'll advise and contribute as best they can, but I suspect that the chance to play against European competition will be too tempting should it arrive.

As I say, let's get there first before we begin the over-excitement. Should it happen, brilliant! But if not, well we'll do as we've done under our superb management and try again.

Look at Stoke now, when their fans look back on their 10 years in the premier league I bet they can hardly separate one season from the next, but they'll all remember the season they went away to Valencia and Besiktas.

Not that I wouldn't enjoy it if we got there, in a way I cant believe that we're even having the conversation about European football when I think about years gone by.

Just that over time, I'd say the financial gap between Champions League and Europa League football has grown. For either comp we would need a bigger squad with deeper quality. Affordable in the champs league? Possibly, but in the Europa league I'm not so sure.

You know I say the same when I see teams do it, history has shown it happens more often than not, but this is different with Wilder.

I imagine that we will have our priorities set out, we have a squad used to playing regular games already, I imagine if, and I say if we make Europe that we would put priority on survival in the Prem and Europe whilst forgetting about the FA and league cups with the second string.

Just seems like the right thing to do, I'd be happy with us not putting too much into the usual cup competitions for a season whilst we find our feet.

Absolutely. The only way to find out if you are good enough is to experience it. Success or not it brings growth and adds knowledge.
We allegedly didn't have the "Resources " to cope with the Premier League. Wilder and Knill are out of the box thinkers and what happened with Burnley is irrelevant imho.

I'll take any European football ta. Imagine what It'd feel like to be in a European competition for the first time in our history, and I wouldn't give a shit who we got first up, whether its Roma or Rotor Volgograd, don't care.
