Anybody know this Blades fan?

That drystone walling on the new roundabout looks a bit flash!

It does but all the bulbs we planted when I was leader of Moortown in Bloom some years ago have gone!
They were just beginning to get going as well :(

I'm hoping that Mone Bros have provided the stones FOC, rather than us ratepayers having paid for them

Been working down Oxford since last summer, went 2 sainsburys, says 2 my lad, fuckin all this way 2 work & there's some Wednesday Bstd, in this supermarket, am walking round shop hating everyone thinking there's a deluded in here, 😃turns out reg plates down Oxford start with owl seen loads. 😤
I remember getting to Peterborough one year only to find the game was off due to a frozen pitch. Quite a few Blades ended up in a boozer by the A1 - when a car rolled up into the car park with OWL as the reg number. Once the grinding of teeth had worn off, one of the likely lads in the boozer went out to "see justice done" - and came back with a big grin.

It wasn't a pig fan - just a worker at the local Hawk & Owl Sanctuary. 😊

I was just pulling of the A1 when I got the heads up

On Tongue Lane just up from the David Lloyd? If so then not far from us at all
Similar apologies ;)

Even though I'm Old School , I've got a fairly good idea what Tongue Lane might be a euphemism for but can someone let me have the lowdown on " the David Lloyd " and a " Cardinal Heenan " ?

Many thanks in advance .

Cardinal Heenan was a Catholic Bishop and many schools are named after him. The school in question is in Leeds, on Tongue Lane, near the David Lloyd leisure centre ;)

Imagine my disappointment when seeing this thinking it was Katy Perry Kate Nash and Katie melua to find it was Fernando Forestieri View attachment 78850

To be fair to you it could easily have been the 3 Kate’s as opposed to the Pig. It’s a well know fact in celebrity circles that they all drive Honda Accords in shit-stone blue.

Dont know who it is but does anybody else get a laugh out of how many pig fans have the last 3 letters on the reg plate as OWL? Tacky bastards 🤣

Many years ago my disabled mum qualified for a mobility vehicle & ordered a Ford Focus, & when it was ready to be collected mum & dad went to collect it & my dad, a Blade, took one look at the number plate, which ended in OWL, & simply refused to have it. It caused quite a bit of faffing but mum & him were not having it & waited for another vehicle to become available, with strict instrucions that the letters could not in any way resemble OWL. The reg number had not been mentioned during the process of obtaining the car but after that it was one of the first things they insisted on when a new car was ordered.

I nearly had an email like that for K*, K* and Kids but on reflection it might have caused more trouble than it's worth.
However, my old talktalk security word was TingTong after the Little Britain charecter. When my Internet billing was screwed up I had to call their help desk. It was obviously some Asian call centre and first thing they asked me was what my security word was its, oohhh f*** thinks me, can't remember, can't hep then comes the reply. OK it's TingTong.
Lesson learned, I stick with MrJellysBankAccount now

Without risking a boring tag it’s Tong Lane which is much less funny
I've spent the last 20 odd years turning left off the ring road up it to get to the David Lloyd and I can assure you it's Tongue Lane. Check this out on Google Earth - hope it works

There's a village called Tong between Bradford and Leeds though - that has a lane named after it ;)

Fair enough must be that one I’m thinking of
