Who should Sheffield United fans be supporting in German football?

Didnt know that.

yeah, amazing support, regularly land up in trouble with dfb though. One season, recently, their fans were banned from a few away matches. Union berlin fans sorted them out with tickets and let them into their ground. At a certain point in the game they walked into the away stand...lots of friendship groups in German football. Read ‘Tor’.

Due to Football Manager and taking Koln to consecutive Bundesliga titles and reaching the latter stages of the champions league, I was going to say them, and then I did the squawka survey and they gave me...

FC Koln haha. Perfect. Shame they are shit though.
Brilliantly supported traditional club though, top supporters

Borussia Dorthmund for me, cheap and a great atmosphere at Westfalenstadion ground

No idea where it came from, but I've kinda followed Wolfsburg for quite a while, back when they were a second tier mediocre club als a soft spot for Vfb Stuttgart but that's from spending a fortnight many years ago celebrating their cup win or summat with 20odd of their fans whilst on a Holliday in Spain.
Wolfsburg it is then for me , to go with my VW.

Union Berlin.

Red and white, working class club traditionally in the second tier, experiencing their first season in the top league and doing pretty well. They have a bitter rivalry with the blue and white side of the city with delusions of grandeur who play in a rusty old ground waaaay too big for them, which was given to them by the government (albeit in much different circumstances to our porcine neighbours).

Also, I live here.

I like the sound of Union Berlin, however we are traditionally top tier UTB

Union Berlin, mixing it with the big boys for the first time in a long time. Built on a solid defence and play on red and white.

14/1 to beat Bayern on Sunday!

The whole friendship thing really confused me at times, e.g. the time I was at Bochum (against Union, iirc) and the bloke in front of me had a Bayern scarf

Edit - just checked, yep, vs Union - I miss paying 12 euros for a game of football were I can stand with a beer and the ticket will get me to and from my hotel 30 miles away

I dont get this which German football clubs should we be supporting

Load of fucking bollocks there are a few fans on here that go to German games I understand that and thay do actually go and watch but for the 95% of us that dont and dont watch German football on the box on a regular basis WTF I dont want some jouno telling which club I should like (note not support) I will make my own fucking mind up should that eventuality ever occur

Rant over

This for me as well!

Eintracht Frankfurt are the only Bundesliga team that play in red and white stripes.

Sort of.

Not sure how you support through a tv but Union Berlin have a great set up...all
About the fans though so the whole lot will be shit.
I read that they are the ideal match for the blades. Play in Red, just promoted, doing well, unfashionable

lots of ticks. Overall though I don't really care

edit - just googled their kit and from time to time it's red and white stripes, so that's that then

Anyone watch the matches ? Watched a bit of it quite odd no crowd noise but enjoyed what I saw, better than watching box sets or movies nice to see some sport "live".

It's a shame Bochum are no longer in the top tier.
I think Stefan Kuntz of Bochum was the top scorer in the Bundesliga once.

Went to watch Bochum away at Cologne many years ago while on a school exchange, must have been 96-97ish. Fantastic atmosphere, although there was something very odd about hearing the Germans singing “Football’s coming home.”
