Yes I know this isn’t feasible. But I am just trying to make my feelings very clear that this season should be completed and if that means starting next season late or condensing the games into a shorter period .....so be it.
 
Have to be played in original venues or might as well not play any more as we don't play league games on neutral grounds.
We can wait till December if need be as no point starting next season till this one's finished.. Would have to postpone start of next season to find time for all the court cases if we don't finish this one .
Teams could argue it's unfair to play 15 home games and 23 away games
 
The EFL and EPL are responsible for this mess, by jumping the gun, and going against government advice.
I accept that some clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea may have a case to postpone fixtures, but playing at least 2 games a week from now on, could get the season finished in front of supporters, with reasonable precautions followed.
Get it done.
Just compare fatalities to the common cold, road deaths or accidents are work, and you will see how ineffective the virus has been so far. Then factor in the economic cost of a prolonged lock down.
Get it done, or petition the two culprits to compensate everyone for their mistake.

If they were 2 points off 4th place the article would have read very differently.
 
Stop the FA cup games, play all remaining league games starting from April 4th behind closed doors and complete the season to mathematical certainty regarding ups and downs, soon as the league has 3 down and a winner plus runner up its over, third place plays off against 4th in a one off game to claim the last promotion spot..

Two games a week mandatory, play at your own venues as per schedule.

Now April 30th according to sky not the 4th - wasn’t paying attention to busy stacking my bog rolls up
 
If the season did become void and all our hard work was for nothing I wonder what would happen regarding payments clubs would receive now that all clubs get different awards according to the positions they end up in.Or would the money be non payable because we did not finish the fixtures.Have we jumped the gun and already spent it thinking we were in for a windfall? Also is there any truth that Chansiri as asked Delia Smith on to the board at Sheff 6 so she can cook the books?

Hahahahaha then you would lose that bet. I actually felt a bit sheepish buying the one roll last week. No shortages here. One reason is that Indonesia is a developing country, and as its so diverse, the president has delegated authority to local leaders, for the measures to combat the virus.
Secondly, despite the developing country status, we have the bum gun here, so much less toilet roll is consumed.
Is the virus a serious problem? Yes.
Is it being overplayed by media and governments? Yes

The death rate from this virus is minor when its compared to other fatalities. Use road accidents or any major disease and compare it.
Try not to panic, but do remember that as a global issue, the solution is bound to be followed by another recession. Apologies if my attitude to death appears flippant, but in the grand scheme of things it’s not the big deal everyone is making it out to be. 🙈

Not all is forthcoming. The world does not go into lock down and shed trillions of dollars for 1% death rate of the population. This does not add up.

It is not a big deal because of the severe restrictions placed on the movement and gathering of people. These measures are not imposed lightly and cost the world economy many billions of pounds, but are affective in slowing the spread of the infection to manageable numbers

Like it or not, without them,the NHS for example, would very quickly be completely overwhelmed and 100’s of thousands of people would die and very likely there would be anarchy on the streets.

If you would prioritise the completion of 19/20 Premier League season above that scenario, then I think perhaps you should reassess your values ☹

And I think you, and millions of others have over reacted, just like the EPL and EFL have ignored government advice, and added to the NHS overload. 😊🤷‍♂️

I am not making light of life in the UK, just being pragmatic. Here in Bali, life continues, without millions of tourists who have gone home to self isolate, or they didn’t come here because of the media project fear.
Things are much calmer, but local traders who depend on tourism, are braced for closure and financial losses, in the near future.
I haven’t even listened to Beans latest podcast, much less stockpiled my childhood favourite. 😇

Wow! He is completely right and they're just sniggering at him like schoolkids.

Liverpool are obviously miles ahead and would 99.99% win the league if and when it restarted. But just awarding them the title without finishing the season does set a dangerous example for the rest of the divisions. She spoke about setting a cut off point for other teams. That would be ludicrous. Then we're going into the realm of requiring some arbitrary points advantage to be handed the title, or promotion. Creates far more problems than it would ever solve.

Completely agree.
Wouldn’t just be the NHS that couldn’t cope if virus were allowed to run rampant. The peak number of infections needs to be spread to avoid all services essential to the running of a first world country to continue. If there are not enough people fit enough to run water, sewage, electricity, gas, food production and distribution, ( need I go on?) then there will indeed be civil unrest and panic on the streets.
The fact is that a first world country has a population with first world expectations. A third world country’s population has lower expectations, would react differently, and consequently can be treated differently by its government.

The other issue is who teams have left to play, one team’s schedule may have been much harder than another’s. Villa’s points total from who they have played may arguably be better than another team whose games to this point have been easier but have an horrendous run in. To my mind there are only really two options, finish the league whenever we’re in a position to do so or void it. Anything else will lead to masses of litigation
 
They’re trying to create debate by being controversial. Clearly Dharmesh was right and they all knew that but they are desperately trying to remain relevant (a la Wednesday) at a time when sky sports news is virtually irrelevant, so if they say something that might annoy a few people and get them talking and sharing the clips etc then they’ve succeeded- very much taken from the Adrian Durham school of thinking.
 
Look to restart the leagues when it becomes possible to do so behind closed doors but without breaking government guidelines on gatherings. Extend player contracts to the date after the last match is played. Then give the clubs a break and start the new league two months later playing more midweek matches and dropping the mid season break.

Scare-mongering in the extreme. How will there be "not enough people fit enough to run water....." when most people will feel nothing more than as if they had a mild bout of flu? Once people have had it, then they're free to go back to work. And if it really was to run rampant and everyone was getting it in a short space of time then there would be no need to self-isolate and spend longer off work than the few days that someone is laid up in bed. It is the actions taken to limit the spread of the virus that is causing the economic problem, not the virus itself, which for the vast majority of the population is not a big problem.

Probability is that 80% of the population will get some level of Covid-19 the mortality rate is between 1 and 2 % so looking at the UK the loss of life through this virus in its first spike potentially could be over 500,000 ( at 1%)
This is a virus with no strong evidence of immunity after being infected, indeed there are reports of people having it more than once.
It will take between 12 and 18 months to have a vaccine for mass distribution.
In that time Covid -19 can adapt and become more lethal.
So looking world wide this disease could kill 20-40 million in that time but it's ok it wont be any of the emergency and other public services

"It can adapt" is just more scare-mongering. Yes it can. It could also not adapt. Chicken pox could adapt and kill us all. The sky could fall in.
If there is no immunity to the virus then there won't be a vaccine. What are we going to do, hide in our houses forever?
