Maybe covered elsewhere but wanted to ensure below is known. This relates to my bookings but maybe others can add in one place the refunds currently available.

LNER
Full no quibble refund of rail tickets from Canterbury to Newcastle return. Even though they were Advance and usually non refundable. Got through in ten minutes and in couple of hours received confirmatory email that I will be refunded with no deductions. I had booked direct with them.

Premier Inn
Announced yesterday that if your booking is after 12/03/20 but before 30/04/20 that they will offer a free future rebook at any hotel. Minimal Details on their Twitter account. But HOW to do it is currently lacking. Have emailed them and wait to see. Again not as good as LNER but better than losing the cash.

Any other knowledge out there that can assist other Blades who thought they’d lost out??
 



Has anyone tried to cancel/postpone BT sports and/or sky sports of their direct debit been as though there is no sport on TV ?
I was going to call today but wondering if anyone already has any feedback already ?
 
Trainpal... no change in policy so crap !

Transpennine ... no response to email on Thursday.

Newcastle independent hotel were flexible to room changes as we still kept some.

UEFA re Euro tickets await tomorrow announcement and expect they will hold on to ticket monies.
 
My mum and dad and brother were due to fly out to the canaries on weds with Ryanair and hotel booked through jet2holidays. Both now cancelled. Offering free rebook or refund.
 
In Laws off to Rome end of month - full refund
Parents to Lanzarote in April - full refund.
Plank here booking with Ryanair for cup game and 2 fixtures in April - No refund (flights still operating so understandable).
 
Anyone had any joy with NOW TV? I just signed up to their last three months of the season for £60 offer just days before the season stopped. I'm hoping to get a refund as it is less than 14 days. (if I can actually speak to a human)

If you haven't used it they will refund - try their chat help through the website.
 
Managed to get NowTV cancelled. They have refunded three quarters of this months as credit to be used in the future. Couldn't be bothered arguing for the extra fiver.

Sky Sports and BT Sport have no plans to refund customers despite most of their live content being suspended - but competitions being cancelled altogether might change that.

But as far as cancelling it goes I'd imagine there would be a cancellation fee involved. Best to wait it out for a little while I think.

There's a thread on the Sky Forum about this (they seem to be moving all related questions into that thread).

Their official response is that events have only been postponed, not cancelled, so nobody lost anything yet.

I suppose this is ultimately the issue facing the Premier League. If they don't see out the remaining games then Sky have to reimburse their customers, so they will expect to be reimbursed by the Premier League (as will every other broadcaster around the world). If that happens, Premier League clubs (including us) will ultimately pay for it.

FWIW: I'm with you. I don't think I should be paying for a sport TV service which broadcasts no sport. I do wonder where this ends though. People have been predicting a financial crisis in football since the 1990s, and this could well be the trigger.

We're probably going to be okay, but there must be a lot of borderline clubs out there (big and small) that rely on TV money and match day income to get by month to month.

Credit where it's due (and I hate these buggers), Ryanair are waivering all costs on flight changes. So i can actually change my March FA CUP flight to one in May for example free of charge.

I doubt i'll end up using that either tbh.
 



Just got a full refund from Trainline for Newcastle trip was thinking not a chance but emailed them explaining situation got a reply saying due to circumstances they will give me a full refund 😁⚔️
 
In circumstances like these I’m staggered that people are desperate to get refunds for stuff. A load of businesses will go bust in the next few months through no fault of their own. Still, lets just look after ourselves, eh?

I am currently out of work and the way things are going this might be for months, just had my holiday cancelled and my savings are plummeting. I have a family to support so yes refunds are important.

People bought train tickets and didn’t use them. Not their fault but not the fault of the train company either. There was nothing stopping people from still going to Newcastle and having a good day out. Many did. Sometimes unavoidable shit happens, it shouldn’t be all about making sure that you are ok & fuck everyone else.

I guess everyones circumstances are different but right now my family is priority over businesses.

If it gets to the point where the Premier League will need to compensate broadcasters due to fixtures not being completed, they’ll just play behind closed doors.

Interesting question. I have long wondered why the broadcasters don’t have the balls to say to the PL - nah, you’re alright, at that price, we’ll pass. The whole rotten merry go round would come tumbling down and we’d get back to a fan based industry again. I guess it’s the same as people paying for sky sports. I don’t and never will as I think they are the devil incarnate who are killing sport as a spectacle for the people.

Don't you have to give a 31 day notice period to cancel? I'm sure you do for Sky? The football could be back on by the time they switch off the channels.

If it wasn’t Sky it would be someone else mind. I know a few people who are of the the same mindset as you.

The Premier League and sporting bodies are just as complicit though. Never seen anything cracked down on so quickly as the illegal streaming was.
