...after being a BU member for ages and getting sick to the back teeth of reading the thoughts of illiterate teens on the other forum. This one seems much more grown up and it's nice to see so many familiar names about.

Can't help but feel a bit depressed about the current going-ons at the Lane. Reading the various rumours from ITKs etc, as well as seeing that our apparent targets are joining other clubs leaves me thinking that our starting XI on day 1 might well be full of very average players. There seems to be a common feeling that our manager isn't the most popular man in football and is unable to attract players to the Lane. Perhaps he could last year by paying big wages but now that the budget's been cut he can't offer anything exceptional except the prospect of banging the ball long to a big target man - hardly likely to inspire any potential signing.

Having said that, I'm sure Blackpool fans were hardly inspired by their first XI at the start of last season. Let's hope that we can get a few quality players in soon or we'll be entering a 5-a-side league in August.

Not sure what is was like on BU, but it's oreyt on ere. You get some wallies, but generally we have some good debates and banter.

I share your feelings about the current situation at BDTBL at the minute. I've given up hope of KB taking us anywhere and I am not really looking forward to next season. I have stated that I think we'll finish bottom half next seaon (although this did stimulate a bit of debate). I share your feelings about Blackwell struggling tio attract players. Taking a step back you have to ask yourself, 'would you join us at the moment?' If I was a porfessional footballer I almost certainly wouldn't. We are going nowhere with Blackwell in charge and you'd only have to watch a game to be put of. Players will know all about Blackwells style (i.e. negativity, long balls and poor tactics) and won't exactly be flocking to us. I've been calling for his heads since Barnsley (away) last season and haven'rt changed my mind. Don't get me wrong, I think he did a good job at first and I thank him for turning us around and a decent season, but he should have gone after the play off final. I could talk all day about what is wrong at the moment, but everyone else has heard it all before so I'll save it.
