When did people stop throwing bog rolls at the footie? Has health and safety done away with it in case it takes someones eye out?
Probably mid 1970s when it started to die out. When did people stop throwing bog rolls at the footie? Has health and safety done away with it in case it takes someones eye out?

This practice was predominantly carried out at away games in the sixties and early seventies, when the majority of non car owning away fans travelled to games by train. The toilet rolls were nicked from the trains and used at the game. When British Rail stopped using toilet rolls and switched to the individual sheet type dispensers, the practice stopped. When did people stop throwing bog rolls at the footie? I’m fairly certain it was still a regular feature in the early eighties. I didn’t start going until 1978 and definitely remember seeing it for a little while after that when the teams came out onto the pitch. Threw the odd one or two myself although mine never seemed to reach the pitchThis practice was predominantly carried out at away games in the sixties and early seventies, when the majority of non car owning away fans travelled to games by train. .....gets coat .....It just begs the question. With the inexplicable unprecedented demand for toilet rolls, let's hope The Prince is making lots of cash.
Being 9 or 10 years old with arms the size of twigs didn’t helpThats a bit shit that yours didn't reach the pitch.....gets coat .....
It was. Some jokers started wetting them and hurling them from the back of the Kop. Made being at the front by the fence like dodgeball.I’m fairly certain it was still a regular feature in the early eighties. Shush, but I got 4 of the big ones from the ladies bogs on satdy.
It just begs the question.
Why do you need toilet rolls to prevent or help with the onset of caronavirus? If you don't want to contract the flu, yes, lots of medication, hand sanitation obvs, but toilet rolls? It's not like its gastrointestinal, these sad people just literally panic buy in the most brainless way, they're not even panic buying the correct items.
I know, got it, they've just got shit for brains, and if they start heavily sneezing.... Well you can guess the rest.
I was 16 in 87 and regularly raided the bogs in pond Street bus station ....Launching my ill gotten gains from the back of the kop when the red and white wizards entered the field ...Probably mid 1970s when it started to die out.
I popped into my local Co-op for a couple of bits last night, and having heard the latest rumours about panic buying, went to check on the loo rolls, even though I didn't need any.
There was one 9 pack left on the shelf, so like a dick I bought them![]()
Good job I've got a bidet you selfish wazzock
