Surely my age doesn't make me more likely to get the virus and therefore pass it on to others, just to 'possibly' be more seriously affected? And that's only if I have an underlying serious condition. I assume supporting United doesn't count.
They just don't want to have to clear away corpses from the stands at the end of the match, which is perfectly reasonable. Although at the Sty they leave them there to make it look fuller for the next match.

Such outrage!
Nobody's mentioned the thread police yet.

We could just have a 'bring out your dead' break at half time.

At full time any corpses left over in the stands can be gathered up and both lots piled up in a corner somewhere for the council to take away

If i was 60/70 and had a higher chance of catching a disease that would give me 10/15% chance of dying I’d probably give the football a miss at the weekend

I believe your age makes it more likely that the virus could be fatal. Irrespective of any underlying condition, that you may of may not be aware of.
I am sure you have led a blame free healthy lifestyle, but your age makes it a). More likely to be infected and b). More likely to be serious, possibly fatal.
My view is that the likelihood of a fatality, while not certain, is in the higher range of possibilities.
It is likely to affect a minority, and your age alone indicates that it could be fatal. Sorry about that.
In the grand scheme of things, only a small percentage of people will be affected, and an even smaller percentage will be subject to a fatal dose.
As the weather gets warmer, the virus will get weaker. Hopefully the edit fantasy will fade too.

Sky are reporting this with no comments from anyone at The Premier League. They're loving this whole thing and this is just another thing to jump on. They've been disgusting on the whole with what they are reporting. It's not news, it's mostly hypothetical situations that are no help to nobody. From saying 80% of people "could" be asked to self isolate to saying funerals "could" be streamed online. Just report the facts.

I imagine the Premier League may warn older fans that they are in the age range of being seriously effected with the virus but I'll be amazed if over 70s are "banned". I'm not even sure how you would enforce it without huge delays to games
I tapped 'like' but Jesus, "no help to nobody"?

I will attend any match I care to do so if this rule is brought in and , if questioned about my age , will tell the person doing so that I am 56 .

If he or she asks me to prove this I will tell them that I am not allowed to do so under the Data Protection Act and that , furthermore , by the very nature of their question , they are violating my Human Rights .

As a further precaution , I will be accompanied by my new and very friendly acquaintance Vernon who will be briefed to confirm that the age I have declared is totally accurate and to 'persuade' the person in question that I should be allowed in .

I have every confidence that this will ensue . :)

As Nan would have said , " Worra fuckin' liberty !! "

I just hope my stocks go back up. :(

In time they will determine that this thing came from a mangy old chicken someone ate in Yang Shang Po.

On the plus side, instead of the club having to think up a different excuse every time as to why there simply isn’t a ticket spare in the hospitality seats, they’ll be able to just tell McCabe he can’t come to the Lane because of the coronavirus.

Can't see that working with me dad. Poke the tiger & he'll bite ( & go ballistic)
Bring it on
Too right! Older people are tough I don't know a single person my age -63- who daren't smoke a fag or who can't eat fuckin peanuts.

If this story is true (it is a Sky News report?), it looks like the PL trying the dead cat on the table tactic - lob in a ridiculous idea to distract from the real issue. They would have to show that we oldies are more likely to spread the disease (presumably not the case) or that we are mentally incapable of taking a rational decision about the risk to ourselves. I suppose anyone has spent a lifetime watching Utd must be insane. Closing the Internet down is the only solution.
Incidentally, I believe the dead cat died of Coronavirus. They ought to be careful where they throw it....

I think the young ones are more likely to spread the disease. I can only speak from personal experience at Chelsea, Spurs and other away games this season, when United scored and all of a sudden I'd made new friends, many years younger than me, who were grabbing me and shaking me up and down, hugging me like we were long lost mates, or simply leaping onto my head from a few rows behind.

I've never done that to anyone personally. I've never had the urge to be perfectly honest. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm really happy when United score and I feel a great outpouring of joy and emotion. But it doesn't go as far as wanting to hug some stranger or jump up and down with him in my arms. I really find that most peculiar, somewhat unnecessary, and a little bit gay.

The council only do corpse collections every 2 weeks now. So that wouldn't work.

Matches are going to be fun if every family with a deceased fan requests one minute's applause aren't they?

PS. Supporting United just means you are stubborn and obdurate. These underlying conditions will not be affected by anything short of nuclear holocaust. 😊

Nuclear holocaust OR the scoreboard ticking over to the 87th minute which forces you to go home for your tea and biscuit.

Blah blah, it's your right and you paid, blah blah blah nobody's going to tell you what ito do blah blah blah...

Deaths reported from Corona virus 2500
Deaths reported by 'sexual misadventure' 3721

And people are still buying belts!!!!!!

If i was in my 60's and had any health issues which could be impacted by a flu like virus, i would be very wary about Corona Virus.

A blanket ban on over 70's seems a bit much on the face of it, but considering that older people perhaps suffer more with these types of viruses, then perhaps people should be considering self isolation anyway (as far as possible).

Governments all around the globe as well as health organisations are issuing such strong advice, which makes you wonder what is behind this when it appears to be really strong flu...
