Thought Benno might have been up for that, especially as he was working with the junior/academy keepers last season by all accounts. I suspect he wants to play on for a couple of seasons more.

Now, do we have any other ex-keepers at the club.........

I remember someone posting on BU "Whats the point in Andy Leaning?". The first reply was "So he doesnt fall over".

Do you know the guy or have you ever seen him coach? Just out of interest seeing as you are slamming him, I mean only a total idiot would do that.

He appears to be "slamming" him for being a "twat of a keeper". Don't see how knowing him or seeing him coach would ever change this as an opinion.
Regardless of how good a coach he is, or not, you can't put up much of a case for him being a good keeper. Or can you?

So Leaning was a bad keeping making him a bad choice as coach?

Explain Blackwell to me then?

I remember what was Billy McKewan`s last game in charge at the Lane, we Lost 1 - 5 to Oldham, one of the Oldham players shot from 30 yards, it hit the bar, then Leaning on the back of the Head and went in.

Thats it, thats all I rmember about Leaning playing for SUFC, and nowt to add from his coaching duties.

No great loss.

I will kick the ball at Paddy for 10 minutes before kickoff, if it aint raining

exactamondo Jim (http://www.thestar.co.uk/blades/There39s-life-in-the-old.6303503.jp). Benney thinks he has a couple of years left in him.

THIS IS THE PERFECT JOB VACANCY FOR BLACKWELL!!! Simple transition: Speed to first team coach/manager, Blackwell to goal keeping coach and Ellis fooked off.

And only an idiot would accuse me of doing something I havent done ,never questioned him as a bloke or as a coach because as you say dont know him or seen him coach .

What I did do was question his goal keeping ability based on having witnessed him playing for the club I have supported for over 45 years and being confident he is possibly the third worst keeper I have seen wear the shirt .

"Never understood how such a useless tw*t of a keeper ever finished up coaching"

OK well I suppose the answer is that being a good player has fuck all to do with being able to coach. Then again the likes of Wenger, Fergie, and Mourinho, would make this obvious.

Sorry if I assumed you weren't that stupid and that you were actually having a pop at Leanings coaching ability.

Ok.So the missng word is "it" as in "finished up coaching it" .It being goalkeeping coaching .

Listen kid if you cant offer a genuine apology without out adding some implied sarcasm dont feckin bother ,I`d just prefer to assume you think I am a knobhead ,because the feelings pretty mutual .

That's because it wasn't an apology, you called him a useless twat of a keeper and referenced that against him being a coach, I think that was out of order.
If that makes me a knobhead in your mind that's up to you, I'm not going to lose sleep about it.

He wasnt an amazing Keeper, But was decent, i played for chesterfield back in the 90's when he was reserve Keeper and I regularly warmed him up before kick off, His handling was Great but due to his weight he was very slow getting down. As a person and knowledge of the game he was top notch, always had time for the youngsters and plenty of advice to give. Was always going to be a coach in my opinion, as you say no great loss to the club but no reason to call him a Useless T**t..... Just thought id add.......

Fluffer???

Double entendre five

0-5, to be pernicketty :D. Leaning was lobbed for either three or four of the goals. I remember half of the Kop shouting "Stay. On. Yer ferking. Line.". The other half just had 'head in hands' syndrome.

We lost 5-0 and I was mascot!

Technically, I dribbled up the pitch and scored past the Oldham keeper - twice - and got a roar from the Kop for it. So we could argue 2-5 if you wanted ...

People claimed at the time that I must be the 'unlucky mascot' but it ended with the leaving of McEwan, the arrival of Bassett and all the fun and games that followed that. So I always claim I was the 'lucky but we didn't know it on the day' mascot!
