Kyle Walker would now be worth £5m minimum.

Best young right back in the country by a long, long way. Best player on pitch in virtually every game he played for us this season. I do not believe that he was desperate to go. Maybe he was, maybe it is impossible to say no when Tottenham come knocking but I think we could have kept him for another season and sold Naughton to Everton.

But no, the decision to turn SUFC into a minor subsidiary of a property group led to the sale for a knock-down £3m with a loan deal, the finer details of which none of the top brass at BDTBL seemed to have clue about.

Well done SuperBlade, you've just chucked alot of money away and blew our play-off chances at the same time. Mind you, the play-offs are to be avoided now aren't they because of the negative impact they have on the recruitment of players for the following term.

It was the decision to appoint a certain chequebook manager that has caused the problems

It's a shame you think like that John because if I were to make a list of the most interesting, articulate, informative posters on here, you'd be very near the top of the pile. I always view your posts with a sense of wonder based on their natural brilliance.

Spot on, and whilst we're living in the past, we shouldn't have sold Fjortoft and Deane either

And don't get me started on selling TC? If we'd sold him now he'd be worth 10m at least. CURSE YOU MCCABE!

O hai

2009 wants its post back.

I normally stay out of these ever more desperate obsessive rants, but can I just ask Linz or Foxy? Forget the 'thanks' button and give me a 'Stfu wanker' button instead...

Hasn't this subject been discussed already. Bit of a pointless and repetitive post in my own personal opinion. Can we not just move on now?

Witty, incisive and hilarious stuff as usual Duncs. Love it.

Unlike your post which was just bollocks. £5 Million where did you pluck that amount from? For a 2 bit wannabe finance guy your attitude to pulling random baseless figures out of the air would surely be a bit worrying.

I plucked it from thin air Bob. How much do you think he'd be worth if he had continued playing like he did? Is £5m an outrageous figure? Yes or no?

The only time I remotely try and hold me sen out to know owt is when you start spouting shite about how much the office block and the other properties bring in. For the record I haven't got a clue about anything to do with United's finances and I always try and quote stuff from the accounts. I don't make it up, I read the accounts.

Jags would be worth £8 to £10mil if he was still with us now.

Yes we could of kept walker another season but we didnt.

It was a gaffe yes and even bigger one having such or poor loan deal but that is Sheffield United for you.

It isnt the first time United have made a fuck up and it wont be the last.

He might be worth that sort of money playing for a decent team, with decent players around him..............

We got a good deal for the pair; end of!

(that's not saying I wouldn't have liked him to stay)

No Uriah Heep though. Not the same.

Not been as good as life on Mars. BBC cut backs must mean they dont want to pay royalties for music used in the show, life on Mars had lots more but as they call series in America seasons, that was five seasons ago. Even last season they had more.
Anyone brought Micalijo up to speed yet?

Not really witty, incisive or hilarious. I was being serious. At this point, you are fast becoming the 'new' Curtis. Your posts have stopped being just a different opinion, and you seem to spend all your time repeating yourself, raking over and over points already made trying to find new angles to fuel your seemingly endless, obsessive, and on many occasions misplaced criticism of Kevin McCabe and Kevin Blackwell.

I can easily accept that other posters do not share my views, nor I theirs, but your opinions have become so one dimensional that I can't be bothered to read anything you write anymore. You appear not to understand the basics of human nature and endeavour, which for me, is compounded by your apparent complete lack of respect for the owner and appointed manager of the club you say you support. Making up insulting and derogatory names for them, and spouting with little justification and without evidence, that the Chairman is incompetant and on the make, and the manager is incompetant and a complete arsehole (paraphrasing) goes well beyond the line, imo.

No-one expects unswerving, unquestioning loyalty, as Strafford seems to expect over at S6. We have the right to question and criticise events around the club. We can 'like' or 'dislike' people we have never met. But there comes a point where you have to shut up and let the people running the club to get on with it in the way they see fit. They are experienced professionals, and have the clubs interests at heart. They are confronted with all manner of situations, and they make decisions. They aren't going to get everything right. They are going to have different opinions to us, make decisions that we might not have made, but this is life.

I can only think that you are a young man and I hope one day you are able to develop a sense of empathy and through your own endeavours and experiences you will appreciate that life is never so black and white as you appear to feel it is now...

Heavy stuff that, fair play.

I actually class me sen as reasonably compassionate, left wing etc. I'm mid 30s and am well aware that life is very complicated. If you met me I'd like to think you'd be pleasantly surprised and in every walk of life other than property development and SUFC I think we'd have alot in common (not that I think you're left wing for any specific reason)

I think we have a total difference in how we view a forum. You seem to think it is somewhere where views have to be carefully crafted and backed-up, I see it as more of a chance to let off steam within certain rules which I think I 99% of the time stick to. I can understand why you'd think so but I worry that you unfairly in my opinion see me as some kind of unstable lunatic who constantly swears and abuses people from the safety of their computer. I call Blackwell obnoxious, incompetent, arrogant etc but I don't swear and I don't see a problem in what I say. It's a total lack of respect for him yes but I'm sure Blackwell can cope with that and he only needs to look at his payslip to seek re-assurance on who is right and who is wrong.

I never say McCabe is on the make, I say he can do what he wants. I think his property ideas and managerial appointments for SUFC have been a disaster. Last summer was clearly a shambles and I think he gets it wrong time after time but I do not say he is on the make in the way I think you mean it ie underhand, shady dealing. He is a successful bloke who knows a billion times more than me about running a football club but that doesn't stop me saying otherwise on here until I'm banned and I'd like to think that for all the bollocks I spout it is just that, a load of bollocks that can be easily ignored rather than nasty personal abuse

I just cannot stand the thought and reality of Blackwell being manager of SUFC - as I've said it really is as simple as that. I let me sen down on here at times in terms of repetition but I dont view this forum as a place where everything said has to be so carefully crafted so as to avoid any comeback. I watch what I say at work and around kids (try to anyway) and I enjoy not having to do so on here. As has been said many times, ignore me.

Not only was Kyle Walker he best player on the pitch in every game he ever played anywhere, he was the greatest even when he was on the bench. He was so great that even when an embryo he was better than all the other footballing embryos. Kyle Walker's coughed-up-and-spat-out greenies were better than all the other greenies ever to appear on the Bramall Lane pitch.

Or perhaps, and this might require more brain cells to take in than some are equipped with, selling him was good business given that he'd only played a few times at the end of the season, and his agent engineered a move away for more money. Either way it's old news. Yes, he's good. But the best every time he played? You should have gone to Specsavers.

Aw, c'mere and give me a hug. :)

I know it's not clever to criticise posts without addressing their content. But honestly... this subject has been through the washer so many times that the merest prod puts a hole in the fabric.

Er no, selling Kyle Naughton for £5m was decent business.
Selling Walker for £3m, the right back who has gone on to actually play in the Prem this season, was not.
You don't need many brain cells to work that one out.
And that's before you even start on the 'season-long' loan deal, that wasn't.
