Quite a fun watch the Morgs podcast.
  • He was apparently close to signing for us the season before (ahead of what was the triple assault season) but we weren’t prepared to pay what Barnsley wanted
  • He was on the verge of moving to a club in Wales when his wife called him to say he was heading to United instead. Morgs was confused, having not spoken to us. Turns out Warnock had called Morgs’ home, had a 45 minute chat with his wife, and she green lighted the deal there and then before informing Morgs
  • the China tour was horrendous, but served to bring everyone together to create that team spirit for promotion
  • Craig Short was actually supposed to play instead of him in our first Prem game vs Liverpool, when the infamous penalty for “intent” was given.
  • He had full ruptures of his ACL, lateral ligament, and a tendon, in his last match vs Coventry, got them at 40 mins, but played the full game.
He still looks the same age he was when played for us tbh.

Legend, total concrete legend.

It’s good to hear Billy chatting in a relaxed atmosphere sounding natural and enjoying the conversation. I listened to Paul Konchesky(spelling) on talk sport yesterday and he can hardly string a sentence together.

looking forward to listening to this, ive really enjoyed the previous 3 great to hear the backstories of great success & failures. like wilder & how he got in trouble with the police on 1 of our promotion parties

Looks like they've upgraded the tech for the Billy Sharp one. Using Rode PodMic's and a Rodecaster Pro now for all you podcaster nerds like myself! The sound hasn't been great on the Morgan one.

Looking forward to this one though

Didn’t realise when he signed that it was an 11th hour thing. Had spoken to Norwich, Wednesday, and had told McCarthy he was signing for him at Wolves (to be reunited with Andy Keogh) and then suddenly we came in from nowhere.

Huge respect for him talking about his son Louis. Visibly tough even today.

Also, a defence of Adkins “He’s been good for my career, a good manager, a good guy, it just didn’t work out here.”

Hugely underrated footballer.

Interestingly enough, not from fans outside our own. It’s as though THEY know better !😉

UTB

Got a bit emotional myself listening to him talk about his son. Really tough listen that bit

Yeah I did as well but I certainly learnt a lot more about Sharp. He never usually gives too much away in the interviews he has done over the years.

Also, how is his Dad not his agent? :)

Walker never bothered to keep reminding Cook to get closer to the mic though. He may as well have just handed Paul Walker his notes and not been there.

One of the reasons some of the previous podcasts have been poor audio wise is due to them allowing Garrett and others sit a mile away from their mic. If you watch both Wilder and Sharp due to them doing interviews etc all the time they know to get up close to the microphone when doing these things.

Undr the cosh is the same. It sound daft but some people just don’t know how to use a mic

Undr the cosh I can understand. I just think Walker with his experience should be telling Garrett and Cook to get their face in the mic.

I had to give up on that episode, could barely hear anything. Find Cookie is always the quieter one too, can barely hear him

A top listen that, echo others thought about Billy talking about his son. You can tell he's a proper family man, what a top lad and a legendary Blade.

Some people on FB saying that we should name the kop after Billy...
The Sharp End. Sounds good to me.
