Chrissy having a dig at United fans

No, I'm saying the people on here playing the 'Biggest Blade Game' because they stay till the end are sad. They don't know anybody's circumstances or reasons for leaving.

This is horse shit. There is no way that the literally hundreds of people that arrive late and leave early every fucking game have legitimate reasons for doing so apart from 'needing' a pint and a pie and not wanting to queue for it. It does effect me and everybody else as they stand in front of you moving up and down the fucking rows to get to and from their seats.

What I find sad is that people prioritise ale and pie over the team.

That's my point, a legitimate reason for me leaving is I've had enough and want to go home, who are you to say that's not a good enough reason?

I genuinely hope that the other several hundred that always leave early do not do so for the same reason as you.

Against Man United at a full Bramall Lane, no chance I was going to leave. You missed the OMB equaliser...I'd be gutted about that.
Why? It was a goal that won us a point. If you'd have asked me at the start of the season if I'd take 3-3 at home against Man Utd I'd have snatched your hand off, if you'd have offered it me at 2-0 up I'd have told you to bollocks. Just because we're doing better than expected this season doesn't mean I can't be annoyed at throwing away a 2 goal lead

I was annoyed too, but I didn't storm out of the ground. There was still plenty of time left in the game. I was proud of the team that night despite letting the 2 goal lead slip to an amazing 10 minute performance from Man U.

I suppose it depends whether you're a glass half full/empty kind of person. You left proud of a point, I left fucked off at dropping 2 points

To be honest, I think that it is this kind of expectant attitude that Wider was complaining about in his post match interview. I just hoped that we didn't have too many fans that felt that way.

Can you read? If you can have a go at reading post 187 again. Just because we're doing better than expected at the start of the season doesn't mean we can't be disappointed in the moment. Expectant attitude is expecting to beat city 3-0, managing to get a 3 goal lead against City and being pissed off at chucking it away isn't expectant, it's disappointment in throwing away a huge lead.

Not really, I am a glass half full person kind of person. I understand why you were frustrated, however I was looking at it as a 'where we've come from' perspective and how good it was to be watching the Blades in that fixture, full house, Sky TV etc.

A good alternative to leaving early to show your fury could be to take a pram into the ground, packed with toys that you could throw out of it. That would show everybody.

There'd be pram traffic jams though, so the pram pushers would have to leave even earlier to get home for their sandwich and biscuit.

None of my business though.

Yours

Big Blade

Said before and will say again, if people want to buy a ticket and not even show up to the game they are well within their rights to do so. Just as they are within their rights to leave at whatever moment they want. Shut the fuck up and concentrate on the game. If it bothers you that much why not ask someone while they are leaving? None of you will because you don't have the bottle. The footballing equivalent of curtain twitchers
You are within your rights to leave early, and I am within my rights to find it irritating that you do.
I'd love to just concentrate on the game, but loads of people are stood up in the way, blocking my view of the game I paid to see.

20% off soft toys in the club shop on match days, get some money into the club while providing for those with temperament issues.

Where’s all this going? What are you hoping to achieve? You’ve posted that you leave early because you’re a bit of a mard arse. Fair enough, I’ve done the same at times, particularly under Blackwell etc. But you can’t expect people to feel sympathy about that and getting mardy about it and asking posters if they can read isn’t going to make them sympathetic to you.
It’s your choice to leave early, just as it’s mine and I’ll exercise that right as and when I see fit but equally it’s other people’s right to think I’m a twat for doing so.

I think you misunderstand the purpose of it, I'm not asking for sympathy, merely for some people to stop moaning about leaving early, it's fucking boring. Yes they have a right to think I'm a twat but endless posts with the tone of early leavers being lesser Blades is boring.

After having another day to think about it, I still don't know why he was so mardy.

He couldn't possibly get his work praised any more by pundits and other teams.

Blades fans are working tirelessly on social media putting the likes of Nicol, Crooks and Durham in their place for what they've said.

How much adulation does the man need??

Exactly. Sometimes it comes across as because the lads are surpassing all expectations for this season it should make them exempt from criticism or indifference at what some would regard as an average performance

I don't think he expects more adulation, but he expects our support to more closely reflect what's happened on the pitch over the last 3 years, and hates any sign of entitlement creeping in. If this is the case, I am with him absolutely 100%.

That’s why I asked. It’s Moaning Monday. We all hoped for three points on Saturday and didn’t get them so we’re all a little pissed off today, even if we know deep down inside we’re getting a bit carried away dreaming about champions league. Sometimes when reality bites, it can be painful. So we’re all having a dig at one another because no one wants to actually admit they’re pissed off because we probably won’t make the champions league in our first season back in the PL, because when you put it like that it sounds fucking awful; massive pig like self entitlement.

At least lend the ticket to a mate, there are half a dozen people around me that only show up if its City or Liverpool at home.

We have waited how many years to get out of League 1 and then in the Premier League they can't be fucked.

I was on about the bit where he was still going on about our doubters and detractors. He doesn't need to put himself through it anymore. He's proved everyone wrong and is getting praise 99% of the time.
Rightly or wrongly, supporters will do what they want to do. I think it might have been you that said the other day about how long it takes for Kop and players to clap at each other. Some people are not going to wait.

It is not so much a case of curtain-twitching to condemn what people do (and it has been said many times that there are lots of good reasons for people to leave early), but a matter of genuinely not understanding why people behave in certain ways. I have never ever left a match early (started going in 1953), because I am fascinated by football and go because I enjoy it so much. When the score is 1-1, and United are dominating, and we are having the best season since (fill in an appropriate date), and leaving interrupts the enjoyment of those around you, and means that you don't get to applaud the performers at the end (do people do this at a concert or the theatre?), I just don't understand why those who do not have to leave choose to leave. It is not something I even consider doing. You are absolutely free to buy your ticket and watch as much or as little as you want, but I just find it puzzling. Especially as some of the outstanding moments this season have been in the final minutes (ManU; West Ham; Bournemouth). You owe nobody an explanation or an apology. But that is why leaving early is a topic of natural interest to many people.

I did ask the fans I saw leaving on the gangway I was on Hackney after the Man U game at the final whistle. My mate who was with me thought I was harsh and acted like a bell end, which on reflection I probably was! I just thought that if people don't have a genuine reason to leave then they could stay a few more minutes to clap the players off. If the players just walked off to the South Stand and stopped going to the Kop I reckon they'd be an uproar on here about why aren't they clapping the Kop!

Listened to the interview again. The reference to fans leaving early is a fleeting compared to his angst at comments about our style of play. At one point Giddings says someone's obviously written something that has annoyed you. CW replies its all noise and nonsense but at times where he feels it is necessary he will use the media to highlight it. Seems to have a desired effect in view of Daily Fail article to-day. CW also said it wasn't a holiday performance either as apparently they've been away on holiday so whoever wrote that needs to look at themselves. He's seems to be after someone for their recent comments.

CW said fans were outstanding, fabulous and with the team to the end. Would have preferred to be not so many empty seats at the end. Whilst appreciating people had reasons for leaving if he'd watched that performance he would have stayed to the end and clapped. Hardly a slagging off of our fan base.

So this thread started about fans not staying to clap the players off but had turned more into fans leaving into full time which has been done to death.

In terms of not staying to clap the players off someone made a fair enough point that these days it takes several minutes for the players to acknowledge (in my case) the kop.

By the time they’ve shook hands with every player of the opposition, plus their manager and coaching staff ,plus a shake and a quick chat with their teammates and their own manager it does seems like an eternity.

Now I’m not saying they shouldn’t do all this at full time, I suppose it’s just the way football is these days but I get why some would not want to wait for that to happen.

I’m firmly in the camp of each to their own on the matter

I sit in the south stand and always clap the team off. I have no problem with those that don't. For balance I must point out that on the 3 occasions I've sat with my kids on the BLU this season the few who clap them off have been regularly ignored by the players who go straight to the family stand, kop then south stand. Again, no big deal but it works both ways.
