Aye I always thought that. I would have liked to see him at the Lane on some of the occasions when Harry is there etc but maybe its just because he's not one for the limelight.

He wasn't knicknamed "Captain Mavel" for nothing.
A midfielder that was great in attack scoring plenty of goals and also great in defense with a fierce tackle.
A great engine making it appear that he was all over the pitch and tremendous bravery too.

He still regularly gets into the polls for best player to ever play in a Man Utd shirt behind Best, Charlton, Cantona and Law.

United were to play Birmingham , the players at theMidland Station witnessed Nicholson step from behind a tram when he was hit by a coal lorry

Reg Freeman was appointed our manager in 1952, got us promotion in his first season, his next two seasons were in the top division. He was taken ill during the close season tour at West Germany in 1955 and was forced to return home. He died at the age of 62 just before the start of the 1955-56 season

That was Teddy Davison, the manager before Freeman. Freeman was a full back for Middlesborough and Rotherham. Became the manager at Millmoor from 1934 to 1952

Sat behind him at a mid season friendly at Kilmarnock in March 92, the only game I've been too that's been abandoned. Made today's weather look like a walk in the park.

I met up with some Tinsley Blades who drove up for it and drove straight back .... still trying to get my head around that !
