Went to watch Hallam at Sandygate, Boxing day some years back. It started pissing down, very heavily like.
Siling down 40 minutes or so in, ref picks ball up and has a word with team Captains and they all fooked off the pitch.
Not a word to the (small) crowd over the tannoy.
Being a bit smart, me and my mate gave it a few minutes then went over the road to the pub.

Remember playing a game away at Bradfield out in the sticks, started hailing so bad the ref called the game off.

As a suggestion.If your in the family stand kop end or front of kop why not take a wheely bin liner, small hole in the bottom and then over your head. Dry and snug for the whole game. Might even get picked out by the tv cameras.
