Not adverse to this in general as an idea, as long as the shirts are good quality and well designed, could even knock some £££ off retail

No idea on financial implications of this sort of thing though, would we not be losing out if we moved away from a major brand?

I go with whoever offers us the most money. Once you sign up clubs make very little from the merc, although it sets the potential value for the next deal I suppose?

Only time I’ve ever seen “in house” done well was Roma a few years ago.

I don’t pretend to know the economics of it but I buy more shirts and training stuff with the Adidas brand because it’s better quality and I like it objectively, rather than buying for the sake of it like with the Macron stuff.

There is probably an element of keeping up with the Jones’s in the Premier League as well. Can’t rub shoulders with the elites whilst cutting about in gear you’ve made yourself.

Why?

because people are brand snobs. But how many people do you see wearing Adidas united coats,jackets etc? It’s a big seller because loads of people want to wear something with the crest on but not the rep shirt

now I don’t live in Sheffield anymore so maybe way off the mark here but how many pieces of Elev8 gear do you see being worn about town?

In house own brand stuff is a notoriously bad seller, the quality is quite often very poor too.. I also think with the way the club is positioning itself it’s certainly looking to gain following from abroad, I know of two people from Hong Kong who lives there too who after last seasons success wanted a shirt and then saw the pink away and have bought it. In house stuff is just a huge turn off to nearly everyone involved.

The argument for is usually well a club keeps all the profit but if that was worth while then all the huge mega clubs selling millions of shirts a year would make their own shirts

Works fine with smaller clubs like the pigs where there is no global demand.

When you're in the prem your shirts are stocked all over the world in the kit suppliers shops. Who would have thought we would have our own Chinese fakes knocking about. Even found them here in Kuwait.

Global supplier = more global influence.
