SUFCs pathetic attempt at trying to flog new season tickets. Taking anything that happens and saying 'this is why you shiould buy a season ticket'.

"Paddys back", "good result v wensdy", "chris morgan will be there" :S, "99 year old john has done it, have you?" etc etc etc

its pathetic. Regardless of your feelings toward KB, SUFC must realise that if he gets sacked, they will sell at least another 5k easily. Many people, including myself, are hanging on to see what happens because they dont want to waste hard-earned money on another shite season. Stope beating around the bush with pathetic attempts at getting renewals and go with the majority!!

How is 5k the majority? ~12k have already renewed?

Or am I missing something? :)

But are you sure the majority want him sacked? I don't particularly like the man but I think he has worked half the season with his hands tied. Let's see we are come Xmas, then get rid before the transfer window if he has failed!

Dont buy one then. I'm not being funny but you do have the right (as a consumer) not to hand over your money. I haven't bought mine yet as I dont feel I need to rush. Might get one next week, dont know.....

They're not going to be silent on the issue are they, or say "get one if you want, we dont care." They're a business and they're trying to make money and sell to the supporters. They have to set off on their little gimmicky sales campaign. Why do you find that so pathetic?

Apparently Paddy returning and the fans forums represent reasons for 7,000plus who've not renewed to come back.
I suspect most of them are thinking that come September or maybe right from the off Blackwell will be saying something like it'll take time for all these new players to gel or players are still hedging their bets before the end of the transfer window so we might be able to get so and so in - or we'll be getting one or two in on loan when that window opens etc.
There is still absolutely nothing from Kev and Trev to suggest there's any drive about next season.

Stop beating around the bush with pathetic attempts at getting renewals and go with the majority!!

You care too much, plan to do sumat else with your money next season, go watch England, go watch Bayern, Barca or Inter on weekends away in those fair cities, loads to do with your money rather than spend it at the Lane.

He will be gone one day, you can always come back then.

Have you written to McCabe and/or Birch to express this Blader?

I would urge all Blades that are upset with KB being in charge, issues ewith the club to write a (diplomatic) letter to birch and McCabe. It will get read. I wrote to them both and Birch replied within a week. he stated that he was interested in the views iof loyal fans and would share them with the rest of the board (I'm happy to share with anyone his response). This could be taken as a fob off, but at least he is reading these letters. If he recieves hundreds of letters sfrom Blades fans saying they've had enough of KB (and particularly season tickets holders not renewing for this reason) then there is a chance that it might have an impact.

Bob thanks Olle,

Now that sounds like a plan, it not good moaning and not letting them know. For all the gripes people have with our board they have always been very good as responding to written concerns.

whether it is meant as a piss take or not I don't know, but it is good advice. I haven't watched the Blades live sinvce that awful night at Watford. Since then I've watched Roma vs AC Milan, witnessed Fulhams biggest game in their history when they tore apart Juve, saw England play egypt at Webmeley and had a fantastic experience bouncing around with the away support at Werder Bremen vs Bochum.

If KB is in charge early next season, I'll make the most of cheap Champions league and carling Cup tickets and get myself to some of the big London grounds I wouldn't normally get chance to go to.

I went to the forum on Saturday and I thought that both Birch and McCabe were being diplomatic regarding their views on Mr Blackwell.' Mistakes have been made' and 'sometimes the perforformances were very poor' were probably the only dissenting comments, but I did not hear them openly praise the manager either.
I agree write to both McCabe and Birch, I will I couldn't stand another season of Blackwell bullshit!

Or go see Anderlecht and meet up for a pint!

Have to say the texts seem to have dried up now. Maybe they think I've renewed.....

Some right tripe on here as usual. If you are a fan - & you can afford it, are in good health, can get to the match etc - you go regardless of who is manager. I support the Blades not Blackwell. Players & managers come and go but I've always been a fan & always will be.

You can't argue with that. Its true, ive said myself in the past. Managers and players will come and go, we are the one constant.

Fair play Deano.

We said lets see by xmas this season and we still didnt sack him.

SUFC are doing nothing different to any other club in the country. As far as I'm aware the only clubs of any size having no problem shifting season tickets are Norwich and Newcastle (no brainer, I know), just about every other club is reporting reduced sales compared with last year.

Until now that has always been the case. Can't do it any longer. I care too much about the club to watch him suck the lifeblood out of it with his negativity.

Might be "tripe" to you but I find people willing to put up with rubbish will end up with what they deserve in the end.

Does wanting to continue to support your team (rather than focusing solely on the manager) and wanting to watch them play week in week out make you deserve anything in particular?

Foxy, apart from chanting that you want the manager out (which for me is a big no no) can you suggest a better form or protest that would get the attention of the "top table"

Simply tell them of your concerns. They aren't stupid like many would make out and share a lot of opinions with some of their biggest critics.

Staying away is a great form of protest, I just don't see how those who keep going "deserve" failure?

Aye. It's an interesting question. It does puzzle me when the whole notion of entitlement comes up in relation to your football club's fortunes.

What do we deserve?

How do you quantify it?

Which teams deserve more than us and which less?

Is there anything we can do to deserve more?

You don't is the simple answer, maybe you don't feel the manager had a fair season to be judged by, maybe you don't think it will make a difference, and maybe you'll just follow the team no matter what.

Can I also urge all supporters who are still considering renewing their season ticket regardless of who the manager is to write to the club and tell them so? All these letters that Olle is urging us to write could give Birch and McCabe an anomaly in their poll statistics. :)

Im sure there are thousands fo blades in the same position as me. I am a studen and i can only JUST afford a season ticket for next season. There is no reason to suggesat anything will be different next year and i dont want to splash out hundreds of pounds to watch another season of this. THe club are clutching at straws with some of the reasons they are trying to jsutify reneewals with. I've had a season ticket for years but next year will be the first without. Not worth it, unless there are drastic changes. I can think of one.....

But not a dictionary or spell checker ;)

Sorry blader it was too good to miss, student bashing is just too much fun. Apologies in advance :)

If you think that was a "shite season" be grateful that you werent around in the 5 years between 1976 and 1981.

We may not have pulled up any trees but I never thought for one moment that we were ever going to be relegated either.

In my book that makes it an AVERAGE season at worst :)

Interesting that it's you who use the word "failure".

I would say if you are prepared to put up with uninspiring, negative, tedious and, frankly, dull football then that is what you will get. Whether that is then classed as failure is up to you.

If you buy a used car from a garage and you get it home and it won't start and then you go and replace it at the same garage and it won't even get you home. What would you think you deserved from going back a third time?

As I've said many times, we have had worse teams than this (although pound for pound this is probably the worst value we've ever had), we've had worse results, we've had worse seasons overall BUT we've never been so negative and not worth watching like we have this season.
When the half time talk at the back of the kop is about who's running in the Sheffield marathon (not me that is a cert) instead of the 45 minutes that have just passed then something is badly wrong.

You might take the piss, but this is a serious issue. If people are really upset about KB then they should bring it to the boards attention.

Self fulfilling prophecy if ever I heard one.

You blow your hard earned cash on watching dull, shite football. You see that clown Blackwell slowly sucking the life out of the club. yeah great. I could understand if you said 'it's cutting your nose to spite your face' (which in a way is true) but it is not tripe.

I'm genuinely not taking the piss, Olle. It's quite common that moaners are more vocal than clappers - I wouldn't want the manager sacked simply because a couple of dozen of the 7 or so thousand yet to renew said Blackwell was the reason they weren't renewing. It shouldn't be claimed by the moaners that this is the reason the remainder haven't renewed.
