So, now we've started showing that were serious about staying where we are, and the Prince has shown he's willing to back CW, what are the chances of Henderson on a perm in the summer??
I know CW said it wouldn't happen, and i know he wants to play for the Lancashire United, but, could we???
This is arguably our weakest position without Dean, our own keepers aren't even in the same league, and if we do go to Europe, and we haven't secured his services for another year, then everything could tumble.
So, we all know we need him, he's easily the best English keeper currently in the prem, could the Prince afford to land him???

I'd say it's pretty pointless speculating until the season is over.

I'd rather focus on the task at hand: completing safety, and then pushing for what was once the absurd (Europe).

I thought i'd read somewhere that we have a £20m or £25m option to buy in the loan clause. I can't see this being true tbh as no doubt we would have been making little noises that he was part of our longer term plans.

As much as I rate Hendo - and would definitely buy him at that price - I am not overly worried here. He is a very very good keeper, but he's not irreplaceable. I am sure that our recruitment team will be actively searching for a longer term replacement.

Not a chance, if he plays for England he will be off to a top 4 or overseas giant. Use him hike we can and line up a good replacement and backup. Rams dale is a prospect.

Everton paid 30 million for Pickford 3 years ago, suspect a fair price for Henderson is now 30 to 40 million
However Man Utd arent desperate for the money, suspect the askng price would be nearer 50 million with a 200K a week wage.

Think it would be total madness to spend our whole transfer budget on 1 player...especially when we might be able to get him on loan for I guess 5 million.
You would think Wilder is looking at the bigger picture and will try to improve all areas.

Think our current problem is playing style when McGoldrick isn’t in the team. Our slick passing keep possession game isn’t there without Didzy.
in recent match we havent had much possession and we over rely on counter attacking using the long ball/ long pass.

We need a young Duffy/ young McGoldrick/ even a Jack Grealish type in a floating attacking midfield position.

If we continue our form he might not be allowed back next season. I know Chelsea are desperate for a keeper but Man Utd wouldn't let him go to a direct competitor...

Yeah, we got Verrips.

My point is very pointy!, you mentioned our recruitment team looking for a long term replacement, and as I said, they got Verrips.
And yes, that is what you said!???

We could always create some suitable lyrics and fill his ears with them on match days, encouraging him to Stay. 😉

I think the best we can realistically expect is another season long loan, be a brilliant signing but another season loan would benefit everyone again I reckon

Hendo is £30m to £40m now. The good thing for us is I doubt anyone in the league will be parting way with that type of cash in order to sign him....If Man Utd had any sense they would sell De Gea while his stock is high (ish) and replace him with Hendo. Luckily they sign players like Ighalo on transfer deadline day so they don't have any sense.

In the running for golden glove award as well. Only going to add value.

Oh ok then, let me clarify. Verrips was/is a very cheap, very low risk punt. As I'm sure you agree, he is nowhere near ready to start for us next August (ie the time that currently we will be without a first choice keeper). He may come good in the future, he may not - hence the low risk punt. I think our recruitment team will be actively searching to sign (presuming we don't re-sign Hendo that is) a keeper ready to play next August.

When he first signed I think we all had that feeling that we've seen Premier League youth loans before (Michael Twiss, John Cofie et al). Then when he played I think we all thought, yeah, he'll do a job.

The great thing and also the problem is that since then he's looked better and better. Needs to work on things like distribution, makes the very occasional howler (like most young keepers, and even some of the older greats), but pulls off saves in situations where you're bracing yourself for a netbuster. He's looking more and more like his original comment about wanting to be Man U's number one aren't so outlandish.

Man U don't need to sell and if you glance at the league table and ask "Can Henderson get in a top six team?" the answer is, for now at least, objectively yes. And with all the question marks over De Gea for what seems like forever now it's hard to say Man U wouldn't want to keep him as an option.

If we could sign him for somewhere in the region of what we've just spent on Berge I'd say snap their hands off. I don't think that's all too likely though.

I think if you're saying Simon Moore isn't in Henderson's class that's fair enough, but I don't know why you'd say that about Verrips, because we haven't seen hardly anything of him yet. The Mechelen fans described him as "the best keeper in Belgium" and he's played for his country at U20's/U19's level. So he must have got something about him? I know Henderson is very good but you can't blame the lad for wanting to be the number 1 at Man Utd if he has the chance. And he's building the case for that.

Totally agree, and I'd honestly be looking toward Ramsdale or, I'd like to see how much Newcastle value Dubrovnik, as I think he's a pretty decent propersition?

Chelsea will be in for him, gk crisis atm and they'll be looking to shift on Kepa... Lampard will want to invest in a young english keeper, fits in their model tbf

I think you've got me wrong, I'd love to see Verrips progress, and as I've said before, he's one for the future, but nowhere near ready, at the moment, to be first choice keeper.
Hope they trainers work their magic on him though, cos he's a unit, and his hands are ridiculous!

I’d prefer is to splash out on a top striker in the summer and renew Hendo’s loan. Ideally with an option to buy in January or summer next year.

He just needs "a full-pre-season" maybe?;)

Verrips could easily be the answer, we didn't bring him in for nothing and theres a fair amount of baggage there for us to risk for him only to be a back up keeper.

We should just keep on loaning him, problem is the lad wants to be Man United first team goalkeeper, so until that is not possible anymore I don't see him being available for purchase.
