On the basis that he was apparently training in Belgium yesterday, I can't see anything happening today to be honest.

Put yourself in his agent's shoes. He has no reason to get this done asap. He'll hang on till the very last moment in case a 'bigger'* club comes in. It's just a waiting game now :(

*Bigger is subjective obvs

BBC saying Sheffield United are the only club to have bid, however the link they gave is from yesterday and that's not the headline.

Despite several clubs showing interest, Sheffield United are understood to be the only club who has made an offer for the 21-year-old.

Sheffield United are considering Mady Camara of Olympiakos and Hoffenheim's Florian Grillitsch as alternative targets should they fail to reach agreement with Genk over a deal for Berge.

Well, it would seem like we are still negotiating terms with the club, and there is no way that the player will come until that's done, and even when he does, the personal terms might take 24 hours to negotiate.
It's looking like Friday to me.

Anyone think we are waiting for the money from Robinson’s loan to be freed before upping the bid officially and getting him?

Personal terms will not be an issue. They will have been agreed by now.

Why? Van Winkel/Shieber or whoever could be in Belgium sorting it all with a shirt to stick on him with some of the media team?!

I reckon it comes down to Genk wanting to keep him until the end of the season, to me it looks like that was their opening position and its took an improved bid for them to change their stance. Yesterday their DoF said he cant guarantee he'll still be with them on 1st Feb, which was a change from the day before. Wouldn't be surprised to see it done today

Wishful thinking but if it’s done today/tomorrow when’s the cut of point for him to be in the squad for Saturday?

Robinson has gone.
Only on loan though, so I dont see how that would help us financially with this one.

From what I can gather so far from Belgian Media.
  • Genk won the title last year. They're struggling in this one. Which means they don't really have anything to play for.
  • They've promised their big players if a move is possible they'll let them go. Dependant on the fee.
  • Berge, rejected us. This was due to it being the start of the season, CL football and uncertainty of where we'd finish.
  • We're playing well, they're not. We've gone back in. The only club so far to have.
  • The player is now keen on the move, but we haven't managed to meet Genk's asking price.
  • Player is now consulting family, whilst we're close to matching the asking price.
  • Genk's CE is 99% sure he will leave this window.
