Th FA scheduled the mid winter break at a ridiculous time, it should have been straight after the FA Cup 3rd round weekend which makes sense as it would come directly after the Xmas and New year hectic period.

Or even had it straight after the new year’s day fixtures and have the 3rd round after the break. Clubs might have even played stronger teams to get their first teamers back into it.

Gives Wilder a good window to bed in new signings into the first team way of playing. They should therefore stand a much better chance of hitting the ground running from March. Also gives our regulars, particularly the back centre backs and wing backs, to get some downtime and recover for the run in.

The break was scheduled for by the Premier for their competition only. The Cup is under the remit of the FA. Klopp is quite correct as the Premier pointed out to clubs the break should be used to as a rest period hence the reason Liverpool booked holidays.
