I think if he signs (big if) it'd be a statement and we'd be much less likely to lose JOC etc. Lunny would also revert to a Back up player.

Strange that one because Berge dismissed the Blades because he thought we were relegation fodder and yet here we are Wet Sham deep in the doggy do do and they are are still interested but no dismissal as yet from the player himself

I cling on to the fact that CW's sort of cryptic comment regards the boards backing and that they have been terrific means someone of stature in on their way in to the club

The other alternative is that whoever read the initial report thinking it said "Utd are going to spend several million pounds to get Sander Berge at The Lane" might have been dyslexic and it was actually "Utd are going to spend several million pounds to get Beer Gardens at The Lane.
Either way, it's a win win for us lot.

Which is what I said he will be weeks ago when the big Lunny love in was going on. Not that there’s anything wrong with Lunny, but if we want to improve we have to keep raising the bar and add more quality.

I'm a bit of a lip reader, and I'm pretty sure he said to him 'Sander, my old mucker, go and sign for the Blades, have a season there and get the best coaching and fitness training available, and then you can come here and play for me.'

On the face of things a move in January for Berge is a win-win and no doubt his agent will be pushing for;

Substantial increase in wages/signing on fee
Release clause of a fairly low, (£25m?) level means he can put himself in the shop window and move again in the summer
Release clause if the club he signs for are relegated
Huge bonus if the club he signs for don't get relegated
Huge bonus if the club he signs for get into Europe

It will come down to wages, (as it always does)….

I've got everything crossed we pull this off but I can see it being a Conor Coady/Maupay kind of ending....

Courtois, KDB, Koulibaly and many more played for Genk.

They’ve got a good reputation for young talent. They play good football and play in the champions league.

We’re hardly looking to buy him from Worksop town.
