The Belgian league ends on the 15th of March so we would only be loaning him back for 6 weeks but presume we couldn't register him anyway.

Genk are miles off the pace of been close to the top of the league so can't see the loan back been an issue

He's not a kid who isn't ready. He's 22 in 2 weeks and is more than ready to step up to a top league.

And we aren't some huge powerhouse who can spend big on players then loan them out and not benefit from them for 8 months.

Now is the time for him to move from Genk. He should have probably moved in the summer tbh.

Agreed. Would love him here in January to allow him to bed into our system a bit. We've seen how long it's taken a lot of our signings in the past to get up to speed. I don't blame him for not moving in the Summer, he got the chance to play Champions League football & he may yet secure a move to a bigger club as a result of his performances in those matches.

If he joins in January he can learn from Norwood / Lundstram. We can ease him in over our next half a dozen games, which should be (in relative terms) slightly more comfortable for us than what we've just been through. Then after a full preseason, kick on next season.

I still think we'll be gazumped on this, but annoyingly allowing myself to get excited.

Sorry to piss on your bonfire, literally nowhere in that video from sky do they say a deal has been agreed. In fact they specifically stay away from it and mentione other clubs numerous times.
