Anyway, during his successful run of comments and inside info (Mcburnie, Mousset, Freeman etc) he mentioned that the Prince was after us getting a big international name in.

A few of us assumed it would have been an older player just looking for one last pay day that might bump our world wide appeal up slightly.

As exciting as it was, he only brought it up with days remaining in the window, and a few of my mates were worried that it could be the start of the Prince pushing signings into Wilder rather than Chris choosing.

I wonder if that player was Berge?
Younger, better, on the rise and more of a Wilder type signing than some of us pessimists had been expecting.

This just backs up what I’ve been advocating for some time. We should clone our best players. If we bred Fleck and Norwood we’d have a reight player. Make it a three way with essence of Basham in there to give us height and pace and we wouldn’t need to be spending all this money on expensive foreigners.

My source says there is one minor detail that is the stumbling block but this should be resolved shortly.

The original contractual offer in the summer had a property in the deal for the young man however this was written in by McAbe and was a bedsit on Parsons Cross. The Prince has now upgraded this offer to a £1m pad in Dore. Just waiting for the fax machine to send the details over to him.
