The Wood Oven's a good call but
I don't like the cramped bar in the Bull. The Ship next door is much improved under the new management.
To be honest I've never been in the Bull, but I have been in the Ship and the Fox & Hounds, although my local will actually be the White Swan ;)

Went to South Sheilds last week it’s alright actually had mi blades shirt on

Love South Shields. Curry on Ocean Road, a few reasonably priced local beers and a game of darts in The Marine. On Sunday a trip to Tynemouth market followed by a leisurely stroll along the prom.
Finished off with fish and chips at Coleman’s.
If Carlsberg did weekends away.

Smoggy resident here....exiled from gods country since ‘73 (Manor born, dragged up in Darnall,Brinny and N Anston

Bag of nerves....roll on May and Danny Hall has to add a new chapter to the end of his book!

Sunny Hartlepool me been here 14 years often go through boro on my way to Sheffield

Spent 4 years in Hartlepool around 1993
Could not believe the hatred towards the blades ( something to do with blades taking over the town in our 4th division days and being very naughty. ) and to make it worst a big love in for pigs

So no

I don't suppose Mackem Blade who used to comment on The Star's Utd articles is on here are they? They regularly had me in stitches by their expert winding-up of members of the darkside who ventured over onto the Utd side.

Only just spotted this , and, I confess, t'was / t'is I

Appreciate the appreciation - it was rather enjoyable, if simple sport - my alcohol addled recollections suggest a particularly special porker called 'Geronimo'

Different now the locals can’t stand the piglets

Should meet for a beer mate
If we get the P word in May, there will be a not sober, 50 something baldy get wobbling around the Marina wearing a 1988 ish home shirt (the thin striped one without the black pinstripes missing the “Laver” sponsor logo for some reason).... that bloke will happily stand you a beer!

Was there about 1993 near headlands on Steetly plant Jesus they are from another planet as for lads from Hartlepool too lads enjoy a good beer especially Cameron’s
That didnt travel well to places like
Soft spot for ‘Pools and the town itself.... often down the Marina, and watched the Blades from the Town end a couple of times in the paint pot cup a few seasons back
soft spot they hate us so fuck em

Out of curiosity is camerons still brewed there
And is the pub still there that got its ale piped direct from it ??? Cracking ale but didn’t travel well , tasted rancid in Sheffield
Still there they do free tours for the public aswell

If (fat) wobbly baldy 50 something get wearing a vintage jersey (luminous yellow a la Leicester promotion WITH 'Laver') is the criteria count me in !

Haha - yes, Geronimo/Gremio was certainly a special case. His take on events over the last 2 seasons would have been an entertaining read.

When’s your parole due?
I was in Durham this weekend, and I was amazed by the location of the prison - pretty much right in the middle of the town. My lad and his mates have rented a house a few doors along from the nick.

Prison apart, it’s a beautiful city. Lovely on Sunday morning with the frost and the morning sunshine.
