Berge is a second Prem season sort of signing. But I still think he'll go Serie A or La Liga first. Then a top 4 club somewhere if he's good enough

It is now much easier to see why we bid (apparently £17m) for Berge.
We were planning to go with a flat 3 midfield all season. He would basically be in Lundstram's place.
The more I see of him, the more I like him. Very accomplished technical player to go with the physicality. Don't blame him for rejecting us. CL football will give him good exposure and experience, and he should be moving to a top 6 club.

On BT Sport now playing for Genk vs Liverpool. Hardly had a kick as Liverpool play the ball round him.
Genks centre forward looks pretty good, scored an great header which was disallowed for offside and has some real pace. Henk also have a 6ft 7in midfielder who looks a decent player too.
The tallest midfield player at Genk is actually Sander Berge - according to their player profiles. He's listed as 1.95m, which is 6'4".
But at 21, can they all give him such an excellent chance of consistently starting? Not sure Chelsea could. The lads an absolute beast of a box to box midfielder and only 21. Apparently Inter and Napoli have made formal contact to sign him with interest from Chelsea and West Ham also.

He's certainly better moving from Genk and we'd probably offer a great opportunity as a top half team pushing for Europe. Something West Ham can't offer.
Besides which, right now Italy is a shit league too.
Have you been to Naples? As much as the coast is nice, the city is an absolute shithole.Italian league isn’t great. But as much as I like Sheffield, I’d rather live on Naples in a lot more money.
I doubt someone on £50k a week would be living at Scampia. Similar to if they’re in Sheffield they won’t be buying a place in Page Hall.Have you been to Naples? As much as the coast is nice, the city is an absolute shithole.

Haha I'm always amused when West Ham are linked with such players in amongst Europe's elite clubs when realistically they have no chance of signing them. Would anyone really choose to sign for them when top European clubs, or even other top London clubs are really interested?
But London is a draw, even if you have to settle for an ugly bird instead of a fit one...…...there's always the chance the fit one will notice you!
Yep, agree but who in their right mind would choose West Ham when Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal are interested in signing you?
Every window. Like the Portuguese player Spurs have just signed. It’s rinse and repeat with the dildo brothers. Every season they look decent on paper with a bunch of foreign players and link themselves with improbable signings. Then they don’t perform, ponder on sacking the manager, give him a bit more time, then sack him. Moyes will be sacked next Christmas and get replaced by Manuel Powerpoint el Presentato, who’ll last just over a year.Haha I'm always amused when West Ham are linked with such players in amongst Europe's elite clubs when realistically they have no chance of signing them. Bump.....
If there is any truth in this then we must he willing to.spend big
It would take around 25 million to prise him away
Would be insane if we signed him. Very very insane.
