CONFIRMED Sander Berge

Mirror reports we've had a 22m bid turned down by Genk for the 21 year old Norwegian international 21 yr old.
Maybe that transfer record will go again this window. Beyond belief if so.
 

That was a while ago it was rejected, i dont think we have renewed our interest since then. Brighton putting in an offer of $28 mill and Lazio also interested. Dont think we will get this one over the line to be honest.

Hope Brighton don't get him as well as Mooy. That would transform their prospects.

A journo who reported it says he has a release clause below £20m - which could actually make it possible for us.

Why the top 6 don't take a punt on players like this I have no idea.

They can afford to spend £60mil plus when they're 'established'
And it makes them look reyt good on SSN when they're on Dharmesh Chef and Kaveh Chalet-kill's transfer program

He'd literally be perfect for Everton or Man United at the minute

Cocky barsteward isnt he turning down a 20m move to the Premiership? Hope hes having fun playing for the mighty Genk in the Belgian Premier League!
 
He may well regret this when he's turning out for the likes of Reading.
 

Dont get why we'd pay 22m for an unknown and wonder who this was instead of because he's a midfielder?
 
Looks like we bid for the wrong Norge. Genk with Berge in the team was on the end of a 6-2 beating in the Champions League last night and Salzburgs 19 year old Norweigan centre forward got a hat trick !

Not as obvious a question as you might think as it depends on game time, but looking at Leeds with Nketiah firing on all cylinders and Bamford to dislodge from 1st team, and then looking at how many kids OGS has brought through now you'd take your chance at Man U surely!
 
It is now much easier to see why we bid (apparently £17m) for Berge.

We were planning to go with a flat 3 midfield all season. He would basically be in Lundstram's place.

The more I see of him, the more I like him. Very accomplished technical player to go with the physicality. Don't blame him for rejecting us. CL football will give him good exposure and experience, and he should be moving to a top 6 club.
