I was on the Charlton end on that big side terrace that day. Remember the pre and post match piss up but can't remember a thing about the game ..... par for the course in those days - we really were bad 😬

Like our shirt though.
What's Blades team? I have Richardson, Kenworthy, McPhail, Houston? McHale? Trusson? Peters, Hatton.

Richardson, Moore, Jones, Kenworthy, MacPhail, Trusson, Marrow, Tibbott, Ryan, Hatton, Peters.

Tony Moore 😔
Thanks Silent. Moore, Jones, Marrow and Ryan are a bit hazy. Trusson McPhail and Kenworthy stayed after the drop. Think Trusson scored one or two.
Kenworthy always put his heart into the cause. Was rumoured to be attracting interest from Division one clubs earlier on. Might have made him a better player, who knows.

John Ryan left us when we were in the 4th division for Man City

Richardson, Houston and Hatton also stayed, were part of the promotion season and the following season.

Towards the end you can just hear Charlton fans singing West Ham's Bubbles. Strange. Mind you fans of most clubs sung YNWA.

Wow significant memories for me as it was my first season as a blade and coincidentally my first ever game was the return 3-2 win against Charlton at bramall lane.
Well done mate; if that had been my 1st season I don't think I'd have stuck around for a 2nd season. That team was about as bad as I can remember since 1953.

I went to that game, I remember our coach crashing into the back of another blades coach bang outside a pub full of Millwall, I also got arrested in the ground for fucking swearing and locked in a porta cabin in the ground with a mix of blades and Charlton. They eventually let me out and luckily for me as I walked away from the ground not knowing how to get home I saw two coaches in the distance, it was the two coaches getting their screen and back window put back in, I was very lucky in that instance, loved away days even tho the footy on show was poor at times.

New upload from 1980s Football Heaven. Depressing stuff.

I was at this. I'm sure we played Millwall a few weeks later but not sure if that was the 4.1 victory game or not. Remember Paul Walsh played for Charlton thought he scored but obviously not. Charlton fans came running up an alley after the match to attack us but a mounted policeman chased them back down. I remember thinking what a bunch of scruffs. But was glad they didn't get through. There was footage used of Blades used in a documentary on hooliganism on the BBC sometime after.
