More pointless drivel

I understand that that is the case, that doesn't mean I can't disagree with the sentiment.

There are plenty of very loyal and commited Blades who are fed up and frustrated to the same level, but would never for one second think that losing to our closest rivals or getting battered by anyone is good for the club.

How far do you take it? Just how badly is it possible to hope we do with the idea that it'll make things become better?

I do understand exactly what you are trying to make me understand, I always have, I just completely disagree with the method and the thought that it is the only way to improve things.

I also think there is some twisted logic somewhere along the way personally abusing Blackwell but wanting us to lose...

  • He wants us to win, therefore he wants the best for us.
  • If he "makes us lose", then surely he's doing what is wanted of him in terms of matching the theory mentioned here?
If Blackwell came out and said that he wanted the players to get a battering against the Dingles and the Pigs, because it would give them a wake-up call and improve things in the long run, what would you say?

I do not get the twisted logic bit. I aint computing that.

I know he wants the team to win. He wants that because he earns more money and his career prospects are enhanced. I want the club to do well just like you but I believe that losing on Saturday will generate more wins in the future.

I'd say that he has gone mad? Why? What are you getting at exactly?

I'd say that he has gone mad? Why? What are you getting at exactly?

What I'm trying to say, is like every other move of his at the moment, he'd be slated for it accused of not caring about Sheffield United and hounded out of the club.

Yet it's quite acceptable and supportive for fans to think the same?

There's a line, in a song we all sing when we're told to. It goes "Come thrill me again". And it doesn't anymore.

When/if it ever does again, then all of the anger and frustration being vented will disappear. Until then Foxy, whether you like it or not (and you don't) then it'll go on. I agree with your point about he shouldn't come out and speak right now because he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't,but again illogical (to some) ranting comes with the terretory I'm afraid.

I vent the same frustration myself, I haven't got a problem with people being frustrated, I don't think there is a single Blades fan that isn't.

I'm just getting my point across that I don't understand people wanting us to lose. I understand why and why they think it would help, but I don't understand the logic that we are guarenteed to do better by hoping to do worse in the short term :)

Scunny 2 Blackpool 4 , makes us look a good team doesn't it ?

Yes,we beat Blackpool 3-0. Knocker.

and last sunday ?

Are we really going to continue with results from throughout the season? :D

Being the Championship, we'd be at it for ages.

Blackpool have been 6points better than us over the season, having played one more game. Scunny have been 7 points worse than us over the season having played the same number of games.

This means we look better than Scunthorpe, but not as good as Blackpool and currently look to be the 10th best team in the league :)

We are rubbish and need a change in manager.

We wont change the manager if we win one, lose one, draw one. The most likely scenario preempting his removal would be a string of very poor results.

It's not such a strange thing for some to want us to lose, after all, most of us are dreading a season with Blackwell in charge.

In no way do I want anything other than a win at Swillsborough. I'll view the other games indifferently. I can completely understand those who want us to get shafted.

The difference betwen Blacko and those of us who see [reluctantly] the benefit of some very bad results very soon, is that he is charged with the responsibility of procuring success for our club - we just support, wait and hope [or at least I do]. Most of us on here take the view that we are going backwards at an alarming rate. It's not solely Blacko's fault - Why is KMc hiding away? What is Birch doing? - but in relation to the [vital] part that he is responsible for, he is performing appallingly.

I shall be there tomorrow and at The Piggery. I shall purchase 2 season tickets, one of which will be an empty seat until Hoof is out, but I'm angry and have every right to be; We all have. We desperately need a complete change.

Are you off your rocker wanting another BDM by the pigs so they can talk bollox and take the piss for another 30 years hence?

You hit the nail on the head.
If that's what it takes for United's hierarchy to wake up and realise they need to get a real grip on the footballing side of the club so we can create the basis to take the piss for the next 30 years then I don't care if they beat us 8-0.
It's a completely meaningless match to us but what we do now to change our club isn't.
