Indeed. I think I've seen more Daimler Darts in the past few years than I ever saw as a kid when they were in production. I didn't realise until recently that this was based on the old Triumph TR3. What a fine motor company Triumph were as well. As with all these old sports cars though, I look to the performance figures, e.g. this one had a 0-60mph time of 8.9 seconds, and draw comparisons with today's bog standard saloon cars, and feel disappointed. Your average Japanese, plasticky, wedge-shaped, boring (but reliable) car would beat the pants off it in terms of acceleration. However, some people like speed and some like style. This is for the latter.

I’m nowhere near SB when it comes to blades knowledge, I’m a lot younger for starters but I was in my teens when Reed was around and used to go to quite a lot of the reserve games back then so thought it was him but not enough to put my mortgage on it !!

All good photos, thank you Mr Bert. I find the Harris- Revie- Steel one extremely interesting. Seems obvious Revie is not paying attention to the proceedings, therefore what's he thinking? I would think on the lines of, where's mi brown paper parcel pick up point or why am I sat here slumming it.
1948-49 team photo, what can you say. Brings a tear to my eye. Season after I started to be taken to BDTBL reserve games by my granddad. Probably seen all those players play at some point, certainly Fred Furness, Joe Shaw, Colin Collindridge, Jimmy Hagan and Harry 'Scodger' Latham. Two 1936 FAC Finalists in the photo, Earnest Jackson and Jack 'The Cat', read somewhere that was his nick name in the day, Smith. Someone on this forum said they liked the kit with black and white hooped soxs. I doubt they were, believe red& white but admit generally red shows a shade of grey in monochrome photos.
Fantastic photo of a young CW. Some on here are afraid a more prosperous club will come along and tempt him away with a more lucrative job. Seeing that photo I wish Chris would loose a little weight or maybe we could loose him another way. Ridiculous maybe, but given support I believe he will leave an enormous legacy to this club so we all need him to be fit & healthy, taking all of us to heights we only dream of at present.
Nice photo of John Harris and the embryo badge, never seen a coloured photo or representation of that badge, would be nice too.
