The playing surface at the Baseball Ground looks exactly the same today as it did in its heyday

Yeah, I’ve since read about it. Wanker owners, and another proper ground lost.

You’re the division below the conference now, yes?

Oh and that tosser Chairman who sold us off....he's now the Chief Executive at Coventry City lol. Unbelievable.

Him and that solicitor in cahoots also had shares in the housing developers in their wives names...absolute skankbags.

And if that wasnt enough....another 200-300k came out of what we were left with as we had to get out of the contract we were bound to with the promised new stadium which never materialized. Shafted left right and centre every way.

Chesterfield’s Saltergate. Now a nondescript housing estate called ‘Spire Heights’.

Gives me a nice excuse to post up a few pics of our old girl and reminisce of the good times spent there.... 7 years been gone now 😥😥😥😥

Many a time I went and pondered how the hell the 15k squeezed in when we beat Liverpool but then of course the Blades came and officially the crowd was 17,042 setting the new record attendance but they reckoned it was pushing nearer 20k!!

Been there to watch Alfreton. Night game absolutely freezing.

Second photo Bradford Park Avenue. Did we ever play there? Must have been years ago in the cup if we did.
Other one Bury

Surprisingly quite a few meetings during their time spent in the football league..

Played 18...Won 11 Drawn 3 Lost 4 (Home record was Won 8 Drawn 1 lost 0)

For 37 Against 24

First meeting was 28th November 1914 and the last one was played 11th March 1950.

Monday nights down 'The Lane' under the lights were good times, yeah would get pretty chilly, and foggy sometimes being right next to the canal lol.

Pretty sure CW managed Alfreton and/or Halifax against us..I know Jamie Vardy scored an equalizer for Halifax around 2007/8.

I think Alfreton were in North East counties when Chris was manager. I was gutted when he went to Halifax. At your place we stood in bar for second half with Aden Flint who had just returned on loan from Swindon. Alfreton won 1-0 Liam Hearn scored. So cold though. I remember a good pub near ground with an indoor skittle alley?

The Kippax was one of the maddest stands in the country and on a side as opposed to being behind a goal like most 'ends' or Kops.

Loved Maine Road right off the curry mile, but never saw us do owt but lose there. Etihad is really soulless in comparison.

Liam Hearn was good at Conf North level...ah yeah, theres a fair few pubs with skittle alleys round here...there was an alley in our bar that ran under the length of the main stand, it was through the double doors that partitioned it off. But the one you're referring to was The Cavalier pub which was right by the ground by the Canal towpath...that ended up being demolished around 2 years after the ground was flattened for some appartments as well sadly.

The Worcester Skittles League is still going, it used to be in rude health with 3 or 4 divisions until the pub closures began to erode the life away from it

Never saw us play there but went a fair few times as my mates dad used to get free tickets for city. Amazing stadium/atmosphere, and yeah the kippax seems gigantic when you were a kid.

The Feethams Darlington.
For those that went it was probably the greatest away day ever.
Proper ground and football team.
Note the cricket pitch is still there
I used to go to Feethams with a mate from University who is from Darlo. John Burridge turned out for them in a one off game while he was Newcastle's goalkeeping coach (Darlington having sold their only keeper the week before) and Brian Gayle played for Shrewsbury Town in another game.

Did we ever play at the Don Valley Stadium?

I think we played Rovrum there in a 2010 pre-season game but was just wondering if we might have played in a competitive one, which I'm doubting we have?
