I think people pretending that they thought it could actually be a serious post to try and prove an unrelated point could be classed as equally offensive.

Oh, and pathetic.
You have been kind enough to explain things to me before when I have failed to understand something, and I hope you will do the same for me here. I put up one of the first responses critical of this thread, and the original creator is never patient with others' views if they differ from his. He has ignored my requests for further explanation. I did not see it as a joke, and looking at it again, I still don't know how that works as a joke. One short question, one poll, context of a match where coins were apparently being thrown, and bigger context of recent crowd behaviour in general (racism, throwing things). There is no tone of voice to go on, no body language, and not even an emoji. How is someone who has never met the poster meant to know that that is a joke? I know a joke explained ceases to be funny, but it would at least give me a chance of enjoying his next joke... Anyway, I live in hope (and will die in Castleton, as the old joke goes).

I'd leave it lads and move on.

It doesn’t work as a joke at all I agree. But personally I find it hard to believe anyone could think it was anything but a poor attempt at humour.

I'm more disturbed by the OP's return with a mysterious new avitar. A bit like when Moriarty came back from the dead in Sherlock. Or am I thinking of the Master in Dr Who?

l probably should have narrowed my groupings a little bit Hodgy. I don’t think of you as pathetic, a good poster imo who can debate by listening to other views and doesn’t, like many of us, ever get arsey. More power to your keyboard.
You are a good judge of character! Can I invite you round sometime to persuade Mrs HBT of this...

I’m more concerned that on a forum where robust humour and opinions are common place, that so many attach their personal agendas to a thread*

*personal agendas only count when it’s about that twat Corbyn.

I understand that they only did it because some idiot on here had put up a post asking whether it would be a good idea to post someone's name, employer, photo, contact details, etc., on here. Took it seriously when they were only doing it to take the piss... ;)

It was an utter cu**'s trick, disgusting. Not even sure there wasn't some reasonable grounds for taking that further legally ....or personally...
