Richard Hawley is alright for a pig

What's Lawrenson's salary?

I've a feeling he's paid a shit ton, for effectively nothing. He's just a Mardy arse, offers no insight, isn't a patch on the younger pundits and just sits there and moans. It's like they want to tell him to fuck off, but they daren't because he's been there too long.

Bin him off.

I think that there may be a not so subtle reference to something that happened 40 years ago in his Blades score prediction. 4-0 home win on Boxing Day? The little tinker

Bit cringeworthy this. If that's what Richard Hawley really thinks about our recent success then I'm afraid he's not a true dyde in the wool football supporter. When Wednesday were doing well I did praise them when it was merited but no way would I actually want them to be successful - whether it was good for the city or not. I wanted them to crash and burn!

Richard Hayley is a class act. Written some wonderful songs, promotes his love for Sheffield all the time and, you have to say, his generous comments about us are refreshing.
Not so sure tbh. Could be paranoia but the last bit of Hawley’s prediction could be seen as a little jibe at us (Boxing Day 4-0 ring any bells 🙄)

I mean Lawro does make a good point, Watford have just won a game, and we’ve LOST 1 in the last 11 which is horrendous form so clearly bottom of the table Watford should be favourites to win!

If I see Hard work and graft again I may explode. It's basically saying we are only there because we work hard. So no other squad works hard???? What tripe. Just to last 90 minutes plus 5 minutes (VAR added time) you have to work hard. Look at the average distance a EPL player rounds - that's hard work.

As wilder says " that's the bare minimum I expect just to get on the pitch"

lol... imagine if Lawro predicted a Home loss for the 5th placed team to a team at rock-bottom with the 2nd worst away record...

oh wait... he just did!

To demonstrate this further, in past seasons at Gameweek 20 hypothetically that would be predicting:
Arsenal 0-1 Fulham 18/19
Arsenal 0-1 Swansea 17/18
Man City 0-1 Swansea 17/16

Lawro did say at the last game he was going to tip us to lose all the time because weve got to at some point

First thing I thought when I read it, made me smile though as I refuse to get wound up about something that happened so long ago it is irrelevant

I’ve always enjoyed Richard Hawleys music, however at every gig I’ve attended without fail he’s had a dig at us, not with as much vitriol as ‘the Reverend’ has but still it’s somewhat soured the gig for me. Now that we are flying high both are trying to say they are pleased we are doing well. I’m not buying it. The Blades high profile is drawing national attention to everything Sheffield, including them and they have probably realised how daft they would look nationally if they carried on with the petty digs.
Brendan lngle would always advise anyone he coached at his gym to keep quite about which team they support for fear of alienating half the city, it’s a shame these two didn’t do the same.

Big fan of his music, mind you I had to sell Lady's Bridge when I saw the inner sleeve featured a bit of graffiti saying Sheffield W***. Made a good profit on it though.

He's not a big football person, the Wendy thing is just a way of showing his Sheffield DNA.

Cole’s Corner is a great album.

Lawro can go fuck himself BTW.

merry fucking Christmas Mark. You bellend.

I've seen him many times in concert but he only seems to trot this stuff out when playing a gig in Sheffield.

This tends to be the old favourite joke: "I was walking the dog in Endcliffe Park and I saw this Sheffield United season ticket nailed to a tree".

Agree with most on here though, he's an absolutely top musician and a good bloke despite being a pig.
