On a scale

Probably around a six. Considering our defence has been mainly borrowed we haven't done that badly. It could easily have been worse. Of course if our manager had got it spot-on before the season started then it could have been a whole lot better. It's still not as bad as it has been in the past. Not by a long, long way.

My thoughts exactly. Nothing to add.

Nice one BB, this is a good way of gauging perspectives of people on here. As a mere 32 year old I don't remember a lot of what some of you class as the really bad times, so here's my top and bottom scales:

1 - The Adrian Heath Days (not specific to a period of his tenure)
2 - Robson, v Scunny.
10 - Play Off Semi Final win v Forest;

Saturday v Donny 1st half took me to my lowest point under Blackie, so I'd give a 3

Despite a much improved 2nd half on Sat and last night's draw, i'm still stuck at 3 and think I'll stay there unless things improve dramatically or Blackie's gone.

Sacking of Blackie now would probably move me straight to a 5, replacing him with O'Driscoll would then move to 6-7 but this would have to be accompanied by a clear statement from the club of positivity which could be backed up... i.e a two/ three year plan

I can't remember losing 7 on the bounce away from home before, though I stand to be corrected.

How soon they forget Neil Warnock and his 4-6-0 Premier League away formation...

I don't remember us facing the might of Peterbro or Watford in the Prem

Bramley's post sums it up nicely for me. Around a 6 -7. In 50 years of watching the Blades I've seen some awful teams expecially around late 70's and v.early 80's then pre Bassett.
Some of the shite pontificated on here about KB is pure opinionated bilge by vindictive know nowts who have a vehicle to make them sound big and clever.
He's no saviour but by the same measure, he ain't done too bad also.
I think he may well go at season end but whover comes in will be subject to the same vindictive criticism by the same sad charlatans who purport to be fans. Can't see t'wood for trees!
I rarely post these days as reading some of the unjustified stuff on here makes me switch off.
I think you are being very harsh on a lot of passionate supporters there mate. Blackwell may have been starved of cash by a change of direction from the Board and he may have suffered an unbelievable number of injuries, nobody is doubting that or the effect it has had.
He has, however, allowed himself to be used by the Board as the "pruning tool", he always had the option to stand up and say " i'm not going to sit back and put up with this".
He also started the season with a completely unbalanced squad, utterly devoid of cover in several key areas, which as the manager, is his responsibility alone. With a balanced squad, the effects of the injury problems would have been hard, but not as bad as they have been.
Add to this his affinity for constantly playing players out of position, the dreadful and unentertaining (and largely ineffective) hoofball he persists in playing and having "favourites", this explains why, despite this being one of the worst Championships on record, we have been so truly ineffective.
Nothing personal, simply that he is not a good enough manager to manage a team at the top end of the Championship.

No chance we'd get O'Driscoll - he's cost too much compensation he wasn't very complimentary about our support on Radio Sheff.

It's weird but I suppose it depends on your character. I just don't see the point in spending hours and hours writing about how much you hate someone or investing that amount of time/effort generally being negative. I'd much rather use that energy to do something positive, not just re: SUFC but generally in life.

UTB and all that ;):D

This would be an interesting exercise to be done by supporters of all clubs. I'd bet my bottom shekel that most supporters would not have this current season as anywhere near a 10 (apart from Donny fans, Rochdale fans and maybe a few younger Blackpool fans). Fact is that football is in recession, a 12 month delayed recession compared to the rest of the economy. It is now biting for many, many clubs and the big effects will not be felt by many until next season. In this respect we aren't special or different or Citeh with money to burn through any slump. A few have gambled and may pay the ultimate price (Portsmouth, Cardiff, Forest, Notts County, Hull) many more will have to do a far more severe pruning than we're doing (If you think the moaning is bad here, try some Derby fans). Lenners is right, context is everything, and right now football is teetering on the edge of meltdown.

Brilliant, another amateur psychologist.

Thing is Bramley, criticising Blackwell is a positive for me. It gets things off my chest and there is always the hope that the strength of anti-Blackwell feelings become so vehement that he is sacked. Every bit helps. I know McCabe ignores the fans but I live in hope. I think thousands feel the same as me ie want his instant dismissal so we aint a tiny collection of lunatics. I'm sure there are plenty of optimistic, bright, articulate people amongst the thousands who I think want this pathetic manager sacked instantly.

constantly critical?
blaming other people for bad things?
feeling ignored?
searching for identity?

let us know when we can schedule a psychiatric appointment Micalijo:).

I don't remember us facing the might of Peterbro or Watford in the Prem
We did face Watford in the Prem, and did the double over them. In fact, those 1-0 away wins at Newcastle, Wigan and Watford were very enjoyable.

Yep Beighton Blade. Saw all those plus Cardiff (you know the one I mean)The present side, I would give a four. and really some of them aren't really ours and THAT pisses me off big time.

Sorry, I didn't mean literally - I meant in the context of getting beaten by both recently even though one is already in the 3rd division and the other is now below SWFC.

Everyone get a real perspective. (don't give a fuck if it's spelled wright). It's a day out in pubs drinking beer. If we are away at Grimsby or Manure, it doesn't matter. The pubs in Sheffield are open for you to meet your mates regardless of whom we are playing. Just enjoy the day out and the excuse to meet some mates.
I have seen some truly awful football at bdtbl and followed it with some truly awsome nights out (or afternoons before). COYRAWW double on the pigs.

Ironically, you spelt perspective right but right wrong :D

Usualy sat on here in early hours pissed up, in between watching vidi printer for scores so my spelling can be a bit remiss (prob slelt wrong)

The 4-6-0 formation that brought us a respectable haul of away points?

10 out of 57 wouldn't even get you a GSCE Buzza.

10 out of 57 wouldn't even get you a GSCE Buzza.

I'm assuming the sub-GCSE standard maths was deliberate

:fishy:

Plenty of Premier League clubs would take 3 away wins in a season

This has been my 58th season watching the Blades already purchased season ticket for next season in that time i have experienced excellent times and some downright miserable ones the point i,am trying to make is personally i cant grade any season in particular a lot of Blades class the 4th div campaign as one of the best if you were old enough to witness it but i can assure you there was a lot of dross turned out that season the days out were great DRUNK DRUNK DRUNK plus only lost 4 games all season Leicester away the day of the ultimate Sheffield Treble BLADES UP,PIGS DOWN PLUS SHREDS HAIRCUT days like that dont come any better the bad days Boxing day,Wembley, Cardiff plus many many more over the years but WHY even TRY and grade any season being a BLADE FAN comes with a health hazard we are masocists we have a so called bad season so what do we do renew for the next one in the hope that things can only get better "song in there somewhere" being a Blade is a rollercoaster ride in life it makes for great Pig roastings some weeks and having to take it on the chin others the only way i personally can put any sort of grade to being a BLADE is a very large 10 simply because "WERE ALL BLADES AREN'T WE ".

Believe me. Sat here stareing at a computer screen (or tv) and winning the in the prem is no substitute for being there and losing in any division. Enjoy the day out. The number of times an SUFC game has spoiled a good day out for me is untrue. BUT i wouldn't have had the good day if i wasn't meeting mates for the game.
