A) Cardiff go into admin after the end of the regular season but before the first play-off semi?

B) Cardiff go into admin after the first play-off semi?

C) Cardiff go into admin after the semi but before the final?

We get relegated to be fair to the Cardiff fans I think.

That or the Welsh FA step in and manage to overule any Football League decision.

As a slightly more serious answer to your question, I think their current deadline is just before the end of the season, meaning that a points deduction would count on this seasons total.

Need to do a bit of research though.

They won't though will they? They'll get their 23rd/24th/25th stay of execution cos Dizzy Rizzy will be able to argue that if they go up they will settle in full on the dot. Think it's inev during the close season though should they miss out.

More pertinantly, if they do, will KM be launching his legal bods on to the FL, arguing they shouldn't have allowed Cardiff to take the play-off spot if they do go under day after play-off defeat a la Leeds doing it only minutes after being relegated?

Raul i was just thinking pretty much the same.

What worries me is that Cardiff somehow scrape through and win the play-offs. Their creditors will probably then pump enough money into the club to see them through til the premier league money starts to come in, at which point all the money is sucked out of the club, and in effect one of the prem's relegation spots has already been decided before the season even starts. When that spot could have gone to a team that managed it's finances properly.

If i were a cardiff creditor i'd probably give them a little leeway just to see how the play-offs count. That way if they do get promoted, i would likely see more of my money that is owed.

According to the Cardiff City Trust/Supporters Club, the end of March is crunch-time. So to all those who are saying that the season is over and we can't catch Cardiff. I say that we could be easily be sat in 6th and 13 points clear of Cardiff by the end of March.

"Joint statement from Trust / Supporters' Club - 18th March 2010

Despite being granted a 56-day stay of execution in the High Court last week, it appears that Cardiff City Football Club's future is once again on a knife edge.

We have been reliably informed that administration is virtually inevitable before the end of March if significant new investment in the club has not materialised by then. We understand the Bluebirds' cash reserves are practically exhausted, there is little money available to pay this month's wage bill and debts are now estimated at almost £40 million.

The situation is clearly perilous, although we are led to believe there may be light at the end of the tunnel thanks to a written offer of investment from a Malaysian consortium. The group's front-man, Dato ChanTien Ghee, is said to be arriving in the UK on Thursday for a series of meetings with Bluebirds' officials, during which the club's fate will effectively be sealed".

On wednesday 10th March Cardiff were given 56 days to pay up. I think that takes them to 5th May and therefore after the end of the season. Already, it stinks, certainly for the likes of Middlesboro and Donny who can challenge for 6th spot!

I think its appauling that we have to discuss this at all, let alone rely on it to get into the playoffs. If our own club was run properly we would be above Cardiff now, without the need for them going into administration.

What a joke

whatever happens the welsh fa will bale them out and will be allowed to. .world cup votes and all

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Tevez affair flashback!!!!!

The difference is then, I always thought it would be us for the drop. Even when all these tossers were proclaiming we were safe because "I've just done the BBC predictor and we'll stay up by four points!"

This year, I don't think we'll be in 7th place.

Is this a real possibility then? If we sneak in due to cardiff going into admin then i'm sorry but this really really is OUR YEAR!!

United will find a way to chuck it away. Even if Cardiff go into admin with a game to go and we slot into sixth, three points clear with a better goal difference - we would still find a way to be leapfrogged by Blackpool, Boro or Donny.

We epitomise what looking a gift horse in the mouth is all about. It could be placed in our hands with everything in our favour and we would find a way to fuck it up. I'm not convinced for a minute that, even if this happened we would definately make it.

Pessimistic? YES

Likely? YES

It's precisely because our club has been run more "properly" than Cardiff that they've managed to stay just above us.

We sold Naughton and Walker in the Summer to raise funds while they spent £5M on Chopra.
We sold Kilgallon in the transfer window while they kept hold of the likes of Chopra, Whittingham, Ledley and Bothroyd.
They owe the taxman £2M, we owe him nothing.
They've run up a £40M debt and crucially must pay back £7M of it soon. United have a plan in place to eventually pay off our debts.
They've got a £13M a year wage bill and can't afford to pay the players wages while we've been busy "reprofiling".
They've gambled taxpayers/my/your money on either getting promotion or on getting a foreign investor. United haven't.
They fully deserve to be deducted 10 points if it happens and I can't understand why so many United fans seem uneasy about going ahead of them in those circumstances.

Does this not mean there is only one club in the entire UK league system that is run properly? I mean there is only one Premiership champion every year?

I love being a Blade :D

Haha, no! :D

I'm not saying anything will or won't happen based on a predictor either, it's just my feeling that we aren't good enough for 7th.

If we are as said "A bunch of whingers" why then would you choose to go to the effort os signing up to a site of such?

Is life really that grim in the East End!

So let me get this straight.

Say West Ham found themselves in the bottom three at the end of the season and a club above them went to the skids.

This club then suffered a points deduction lifting WHU out of the relegation zone.

Are you really telling me that the Hammers would happily take their relegation regardless because they are cheeky cockney chappies and everything should be decided on the pitch?

And even talking about the possibility of a points deduction doing you a favour is "whinging"?

Pull the other one soft lad.

i doubt he is from the east end not many west ham fans are

so where is chumley ? essex ? surrey ? midlands /

One of these years your club won’t spend money you don’t have, on players who are too good for you and can only be signed on illegal contracts. Thanks for the £25M, hope it doesn’t bankrupt you. Don’t forget to wave to us from the back row of your athletics track.

fixed that for you...

We tried that once, but as it turned out other teams were busy signing world class players that others wouldn`t touch with a barge pole due to the dodgy (and against the rules) conditions attched.

If people aren`t gonna play fair on the pitch, why even try...
