I doubt any first teamer will be anywhere near that game. We play 3 games in 7 days, this cup one on either the Sunday or Monday and West Ham the Friday. The players need a rest, they’re blowing in games now and have a hectic December.
I’d love us to go for the cup but genuinely think it needs sacking off this year. As it stands we are only 7 points clear of drop zone, and staying up is all that matters

I would like us to have a good crowd out for this game if only to give a up and coming non league side a good pay day they have earned that and it is vital to a lot of these little clubs. Hopefully both clubs will settle on a reasonable ticket price for the game that makes some money but also encourages people to actually turn out. I hope Fylde aren't greedy bastards and insist on £30 a ticket as home fans will not pay it price it £15-£20 and everyones happy.

I agree changes should be made for this match, we're playing a non league team for god sake! But we should play the first team if we get past Fylde and face tougher opposition.
If we go down this season, it won't be because we played a few extra matches in the FA Cup, it'll be because we weren't good enough.

Best draw for me. I don't like getting sides you've played a lot in the league, which given our League One times covers a lot. It's less interesting that way. Plus if we drew a Championship side then you know they can make it a battle but it's still a blow if you don't win it.
It's as good a chance to progress as we could've hoped for. I've been really down about the cups in recent seasons but, without getting ahead of ourselves, you have to look at how we're doing right now and say that there aren't many clubs in the country we can't beat, if any, in a one-off cup tie. As long as the league is going as well as it is there's finally no reason not to roll the dice.

Yes we do, if we made the final and played a replay every round it’s still only an extra 8 matches. The team didn’t look burnt out playing 46 matches last season did they?

They looked burnt out on Sunday at 70 minutes. As they did against Man U.
As I’ve already posted in this thread, in the last 30 years the cup has been won three times by a club not in the top six. It’s not very likely for ANY club outside the top six to win it.

Oddschecker shows the bookies putting us at about an average of 66:1 (shortest is 50, longest is 80). I agree that we shouldn't over-commit to the cup, especially the early rounds, but if we bring in some cover in the JTW then I actually like those odds when it comes to rolling the dice.

Win 5 of the next 10 and the 4th Round tie, and the rest of the Cup, starts looking very different. I think Premier League teams who aren't going down, aren't in Europe and aren't chasing anything at the top of the league have a great chance in the FA Cup.
A lot needs to go right to get to that position and getting an 'easy' 3rd round draw is the first part.

We didnt luck like a team out on there feet in the last 10 minutes against Man Utd ! We lost our way and shape for 10 minutes conceded 3 goals and came back strongly towards the end.
Playing away at a good side which Wolves are we were pushed back towards the end 1or 2 maybe feeling the pace but I bet Wolves had players feeling the same way.
Being at home always drives you on when fatigue creeps in ,but it wernt all one way.

Plenty of United-sized clubs on the runners-up side of that table. I'd take finishing 10th (or even 17th) and making the Cup Final.
It's definitely highly unlikely but this season does feel like one where all the pieces could fall into place.

Personally I’ve seen us lose at Wembley more than enough times. I'd rather we finished 10th and didn’t lose a cup final than finish 17th and lose a final.
