Mine being that of all of the “top” jobs that might become available in the coming years, this one could be “the” one.

Strikes me that Sir Al is a huge fan, and that his personal endorsement should the job come up, would be a given.

They’ve just taken a gamble on Solksjaer, usually if a gamble fails clubs tend to go for a safe ‘proven’ option.

Saw he was at the game on Saturday.
I have no doubt that if Wilder finishes us near the top of the league and keeps us progressing and winning a trophy or two (that would be amazing!) Then he would be considered an option for the job at Man Utd.
Maybe in 3 to 4 years if he is having continued success.

I’m sure Wilder wants to replicate what Ferguson achieved, but with the Blades rather than Man U.
Also I don’t think Man U would give any manager that came in now the time Fergie had back in the day.

I think CW achievements with the Blades has left these clubs in his wake already. When and only when CW has done at BDTBL. Chris has said on more than one occasion he’s spoken to Ferguson and taken advice. If Ferguson has taken Chris under his wing it doesn’t follow that he wants him to manage Man U. Chris is building something slowly at the lane in the same way Ferguson did at old Trafford.

World renowned tactics guru Marcelo Bielsa admitted the other year that he’s also impressed with Chris Wilder.
Didnt he say he‘d love to go for a coffee with Wilder to discuss football tactics.

To be honest I think Alan Knill is a big part of Wilders success.
Best double act since Brian Clough and Peter Taylor.

I think he said he won a play off final thanks to the tactical advice Fergie gave him. So the glass of wine is more likely because they've known each for a few years in thsi capacity.

I can't see Man Utd sacking Ole. Look at the squad he has and the age of his players. He's not a miracle worker, a squad of young players isn't going to become a major force overnight. He proved himself on Sunday by making the right changes and getting them back into the game.

Making the right changes? It was sheer desperation throwing all strikers on.

You could argue he made a complete fuck up playing 3 at the back including Phil Jones.

Respectfully disagree....wouldn‘t be surprised if Man Utd are already sounding out replacements.
Simiiar to what Sours did. MU will only Solksjaer when they have a better manager with a big profile/ reputation lined up.

Agree it will take time to make Man U a force again, however at the moment they look a very ordinary mid table side, which is not acceptable.

Also several Man Utd fans have criticised Solksjaers tactics. A YouTube Man U fans said

“it was like watching a boxer being totally outclassed and well behind on points. So the trainer tells his boxer to take wild swings and hope for the best.
He said Solksjaer was desperate. They took a wild swing and knocked us down with the goal. Then they caught us with 2 more knock down punches”.

The Man Utd fan said “Sheff United were punch drunk and there for the taking but Solksjaer takes off Martial and goes on the defensive.
He said this gave SU time to clear their heads....regain their composure...then the last 10 minutes reverts back to SU attacking again”.

Overall Man United looked a poor outfit with no plan or organisation. That must be down to their manager.
